*WARNING MENTION OF DKA*

Toni's pov

I can't believe I'm finally here, on my first date with the cutest girl at school, and in a week everyone at school is going to find out, I haven't took my eyes of her since we got here, the waiter comes back with our drinks and places them on the table, "are you guys ready to order?" he asks I smile and look at Lucy she smiles and nods, "I'll have the chicken supreme burger, please and a portion of the mac and cheese loaded fries please" I say smiling to myself, I hear a sweet chuckle come from the other side of the table, I look up to see her smiling at me, I wink at her and her cheeks turn red, "ill erm have the BBQ Texas chicken burger please with a portion of the beef chili loaded fries..." Lucy says closing her menu, and handing it over to the waiter, "also could we have a the large portion of onion rings please" she says smiling letting go of the menu as the waiter took mine too.

I place my hand in hers as we wait for our food, "so when did you know you was gay?" I ask Lucy she looks to me and smiles, "well I knew for a while but hadn't come out to anyone and then I met you at camp, which made me want to tell people, and I couldn't before because I was at a school full of girls and it was St Marys so you know, it wouldn't have ended well, and I guess it didn't really but I'm glad I did come out because if I didn't I wouldn't be sat here with you" she said smiling, looking up to me, I smiled back and reassuringly squeezed her hand, "when did you know?" she asks me smiling, "I, erm, well I knew for a while but didn't want it to be true, and I pushed it down for a while, and at summer camp I tried to hide my feelings for you but you kissed me and I couldn't do it anymore, but I wasn't ready to tell anyone because I was worried what people would think about me, for being true to myself and you really helped with that" I said looking down and then back up to her, she squeezes my hand and smiles, I smile back at her as our food arrives at the table, I reach to my bag getting my blood sugar meter out testing reading at 8.9, I didn't need to worry much.

We finish our meals and we order a desert to share, as we finished that I gave a small insulin dosage, I pay the bill, and we leave the restaurant, we stood outside waiting for my car when a breeze blew past, I felt Lucy pull me closer and I wrap my arm around her so she could snuggle into my side, "are you cold?" I look down asking her, she nods her head in my side so I let go and take my jacket of and wrap it round her, and then I wrap my arm round her again pulling her into my side, when the car turned up the chauffeur got out and ran over to us passing me the keys, I smile and give him a tip for not scratching my car, "thanks for not scratching her" I say giving him ten pounds, he smiled back and excepted the tip, "it's a nice drive miss" he said and I helped Lucy into her seat, and walked round to the driver side, "I know" I said winking and getting into the driver side, I stuck my seat belt on and started the car, and drove off, with a wheel spin to impress the chauffeur and I left a cloud of smoke, I looked in the mirror to see his jaw drop, I hear Lucy chuckling to herself, I look over and take her hand in mine, "what" I say she looks to me and smiles, "nothing" she says staring at me with a smile, I turn back to the road, and head to the next location.

I pull up to the car park to the beach, I turned the car off "did you bring pumps?" I ask as I get out the car, "yes I did, and eve even picked them out" she says smiling as she swaps her shoes, I close my door and walk over to hers to open it, she took my hand and pulled herself out, she still had my jacket on, I walked to my boot and got my other jacket out of the car, she looked at me "you can have it back if you want" she said starting to take my jacket off, "no its fine I always have a spare one in the boot" I say walking over to her and pulling her in closer I place a kiss on her lips, I take her hand in mine and we start to walk down the beach, we walked along the beach in a comfortable silence my arm was wrapped round her shoulders and her arm was wrapped round my waist, I saw a bench and walked us over to it, I sat on it and Lucy sat next to me snuggling into my chest, we sat there for a while, we talked about random stuff things like our favourite colour, and what foods we don't like.

We get up and start walking again when Lucy asks, "what happened between you and Roxy?" I turn to her and smile "it was in reception I think it started, I was using this colour of paint she wanted but I wouldn't let her have it..." I said laughing to myself, "and then in year six we was invited to her birthday, everyone was, and she tried to embarrass me but her plan didn't work the way she wanted it to, because instead of James pushing me in the pool he pushed her, not realising that me and him was best friends..." I said trying not to laugh but I hear Lucy chuckling to herself, I pull her in closer "then next time was in year 9 when Ellie started school, she wanted her to be in her friendship group but Ellie didn't want to be, cause you see I was her tour guide as well, and we became quick friends and I told her everything about everyone introduced her to James and that's how our friendship became so strong, it was lunch time on her first day and me and James was sat where we normally sit and Ellie walked over and sat with us, and obviously Roxy didn't like that so she came over and tried to pour her drink over me but Ellie warned me before hand and I ended up pouring it over her..." I said laughing out remembering the sight, "I've always been up on one with her, but it didn't help that my sister was her best friend, but the best thing was when we switched clothes and Roxy had no clue, and freaked when she finally realised because she told a secret that I shouldn't have found out..." I swallow the lump in my throat, "and well I never told people but she thinks I did, because a week later it came out to the whole school but I told no one, not even my friends and I'm pretty sure that's the real reason why she hates my guts" I say lifting my arms in the air in defeat.

We walk for another hour, laughing and talking we was really getting to know each other, when I started to feel weird, I felt my whole body start to shake, I stopped walking, I looked to Lucy who was talking but I couldn't hear what she was saying and then everything went black and I felt my body go limp and a pain shot through my body, "Toni oh my god... help..." I hear Lucy shout before everything went blank...

I suddenly woke up in a white room it smelled of bleach and latex, I felt a stinging pain in my hand, I looked down to see a needle sticking out of my hand, I looked around to see my mum and dad beside my bed looking worried, "where... erm... where am I?" I try to say but my mouth was dry, but instead of getting an answer, my dad rushes out the room, and I got my mums hand against my face, "your awake, thank god" she said with tears down her face, I watched as my dad walks back in with a doctor, "hi Antoinette..." I hissed at the name, "I'm doctor Williams, you are in the hospital, resulting you in having a DKA..." he says my eyes grow with panic remembering I was with Lucy, "where's Lucy?" I ask, my mum looks to me and back to my dad who walks out the room again, "she's with your sister" my mum says.
