When Mila's alarm woke her up the next morning, she realized she had fallen asleep on the couch waiting for Ashley before her best friend could even make it. Judging by the low music coming from Ashley's room down the hallway in their new house, Mila confirmed she had at least made it back safely. As excited as she was for their movie night after the photo shoot, a part of her was glad that Ashley had let her sleep rather than waking her up for the marathon.

She silenced her phone without checking it. A simple glance around her new home made her happily sink into the heavenly cushions of their new couch.

The house was new, built in the last twenty years and renovated in the last five. The entire neighborhood in this gated community had houses styled from English architecture with cottages and bungalows all matching each other in theme and color schemes. It was just outside of town, not too far from all the shopping and tourism, but far enough where everyone had nice big yards and huge porches and trees surrounding their homes from the neighbors.

They had a nice three bedroom, one level home where the front door brought you into what was the living room in progress. It was complete with a fireplace at the center of one long wall, facing large windows with slightly opened drapes. Though their coffee colored couches were already set up, boxes both empty and unpacked still scattered different parts of the room where they were stacked on each other.

The living room opened to the hallway on the right, and the kitchen, dining room, and bar on the left. Those rooms were currently naked with just a dining table freshly unboxed set up in the center of the dining room where shelves built into the wall had a few of their decorations and pictures.

A wide hallway showed Mila and Ashley's bedrooms on the left where a shared master bathroom combined the two rooms at the middle through doors not accessible through the hallway. On the right was another bathroom next to the third room that would be turned into their office and study room. It had nothing in it but boxes at the moment.

When she finally brought herself to get up from the comfy couch, it took everything in her not to just lay down in her bed in her new room once she made it past the hallway. She needed to get ready for class and lacrosse practice.
Mila changed into a pair of skinny jeans, rain boots, and her lacrosse hoodie to take on the rainy day. She grabbed her backpack with her laptop, notebook, and two textbooks. She also slung the duffel bag with her lacrosse gear and a fresh change of clothes in it, mentally preparing herself for how messy practice was going to be this afternoon.

Finally checking her phone, she saw that her notifications had blown up since making her Instagram public and posting that picture the night before. She cleared all notifications from the app so she could see what messages and calls she missed. Quickly replying to her sisters who were checking on her and hyping up how nice she looked, she opened the seven texts from Chris and saw seven more missed calls.
