I felt pain throughout my body as I carefully crawled through the long, narrow corridors.
The corridors were fine, they just were dusty since no one had used them in who knows how many years. Honestly, I doubt anyone would remember these hallways even if I told them about it.
Soon, I was forced to stop as the left side of my body became numb and immobile with pain. It hurt so much.
Tears quietly fell down my faced as I gently grabbed my arm.
I closed my eyes, breathing deeply to try and push the pain away. Slowly, the pain and numbness faded away, but it was still there.
I gulped and continued on my way. These halls lead all the way outside the City's walls. I had to get out.
After what felt like hours, I finally was outside. The air felt cold and rough against my bones, but I couldn't stand and rest.
I took a few shuffled steps to the edge. The fall to the Earth Realm is far and it would hurt... It could possibly break my wings or kill me.
I looked behind me, shaking as I did. The tall walls loomed over me darkly.
It reminded me why I was there, why I was willing to fall. Why I wanted to be taken away by a Demon.
Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and fell backwards.
The wind rushed passed my ears, the pain consuming my body as it had been for who knows how long. The pain made my wings useless for gliding, much less flying.
The air circled around me, ripping at my clothes and bones. It tried to slow me down, to cradle me, but I didn't want it to.
Not right now, not when I was in so much pain.
Suddenly, the wind stopped, my body being pulled against a rough chest. Warmth surrounded me, a blistering warmth.
I carefully opened my eyes, looking up into the shaded eyes of my friend. His face was twisted with anger and worry. Yet, he said nothing to me as he grabbed the gold bracelet.
With ease, he destroyed it. He then looked down to me, his worried look growing.
"I'm bringing you to the hotel." He whispered lowly, his large wings beating harshly as he twisted his body to fly towards the safe area.
My eyes closed on their own. I was so tired, so, so tired. It didn't matter anyway. I was safe now. I was safe in Mr. Jam's arms. I will always be safe in his arms.
