You Know Him

I frowned as my body was tugged and squeezed into an Angel dress. I hated this.

I took a deep breath before sighing lowly. I was honestly going to change the dressing situation when I was Ruler... Or I could just talk with Mom about it.

"Why am I being dressed up?" I softly called out to Alphys.

The yellow-orange monster bit her lower lip, confliction in her eyes. She clearly was told not to tell me, most likely from my mom.

My frown grew deeper.

Why were they always keeping me out of things? I needed to know these things if I'm going to be a part of them.

"We are done, My Angel." The head seamstress whispered in a humming voice.

She was a really pretty human looking Angel. One of the most gentlest ones we had.

I gave her a small smile, quietly thanking her as I hopped down from the platform. I then slipped on some heels that were laid before me.

"Unwrinkle your nose." My teacher lightly snapped, glaring some.

Swiftly, I relaxed my face as I looked up to her with dulled eyes. I hated wearing these dresses and heels. They hurt.

Lightly, she grabbed my arm and pulled me with her, her own heels clicking loudly against the marble floor.

"We're late..." She mumbled.

I only nodded, jumping some to keep up with her fast pace.

Soon, we were in front of the large doors to the throne room. An odd, familiar aura floated out of the room along with the feeling of dread and annoyance.

But, why? Who was in there doing all of that?

I didn't have time to really process these questions as Alphys pulled us into the room.

The large doors banged close behind us, giving us everyone's attention. Including the one person who I had been dying to see for the past few weeks.

"Mr. Jam!" I called out, a bright, happy smile forming on my lips.

The inky skeleton tilted his head some, a curious/confused smile forming on his lips.

He opened his mouth, more than likely to say hello or question why I was there, but I had to hug him.

I didn't bother running, the damn heels would've broken, so I just rammed myself into his chest using my wings.

The Rising chuckled softly, patting my head as he then scooped me up and had me sitting on his arm. I honestly didn't mind this, this just made it easier and rather more comfortable to hug him.

"What are you doing here?" I asked happily.

He just chuckled and rubbed my head softly.

"Freshy, get away from him!" Snapped one of the elders.

I frowned at their angry voice and leaned back to look at them. My eyes were relax and my head tilted to the side some.

"Why should I? He's the one who's been protecting me from the Demons in the Earth Realm."

Everyone in the room tensed, their eyes wide. Seriously, what was their problem.

I pouted, glaring at them now. They were being rude.

"Freshy, it's alright." Mr. Jam's voice rung throughout the room almost in a happy tone. It made me happy. "But while they're trying to process that, why don't you show me to the kitchen and we can get something to eat?"

My lips spread into a happy grin. My wings flapped as I pulled away from him, grabbing onto his hand so I could still be connected to him in a way.

"Then lets go!" I chirped sweetly.

The inky skeleton only smiled softly and chuckled, happily following me.

Okay, maybe today wasn't going to be so bad.
