I felt a gentle, warm hand caress my cheek, being nimble with bones as though I would break.

Weakly, I opened my eyes. It was then I noticed the agony my body was in. I  couldn't help but to whimper as I looked up at whoever took me.

Mr. Jam gave me a gentle smile, his hidden eyes staring only at me.

I tried to lift my arm up, wanting to touch him, but all it did was twitch. Even that made the pain spike.

"Hey, you shouldn't move." His whispered voice was low and loving to my ears. "Fighting against the bracelet was a dangerous idea, Freshy." His tone became a bit harder, yet it was still  so loving.

"I-I had to." My voice sounded so ugly and rough.

His expression twisted with pain and guilt. I didn't like seeing him like that. I just wanted him by my side, kissing my head, and holding me close.

"I'm sorry I made you go through that." He cupped my face, kissing my head softly.

I close my eyes, enjoying it.

Once he pulled away, his hands left my cheeks. With a spur of strength, I launched myself up and grabbed onto his waist.

"Don't leave me!" I cried out, the words burning my throat.

I could feel the Demon tense before relaxing. Gently, he pushed me off of him and back onto the bed. However, the blankets of the bed shifted along with the weight.

My body soon was pulled into his warm one. It was a softer warmth now. When did he become so warm though? I thought he was cold? Or did I never notice it before?

I pressed my head into his chest, my body relaxing. He smelled nice... Kind of like paint and a random assortment of berries. Had he always smelled this nice?

My hand twitched some, my fingers trying to grasp onto his shirt. Most likely sensing this, he grabbed my hand and carefully pulled it up to his chest.

"Go back to sleep," he murmured in an odd voice. The voice felt weird, making my body heavy and tired. Was he using magic on me? "You need to rest, my little Angel, it'll help you heal faster."

I nodded softly, my hand on his chest weakly grabbing his shirt. I didn't want him to leave me while I slept.

"It's alright, I won't leave. I'll keep all the nightmares and Angels away. All Angels expect for your friends." He kissed my head again, rubbing my back softly.

Easily, I released my hand, sighing softly and almost happily. I truly was safe with him.
