Broken

I dressed in some soft, revealing clothes as that was all there was in the closet. I was a little embarrassed showing my body that way, but the Demons around just bowed to me in a respectful manner.

Actually, as I began to look around, I noticed how cool the castle air felt. It was fresher and nicer on my bones, like a Mortal's Spring day. I even noticed some wild, old Demon flowers and plants taking over random pillars and creeping in through windows.

I couldn't help the frown that started to form on my face. What was going on? I know I was gone for a while, but why were the plants over taking the castle like that?

I clenched my hands, walking around some more. Something was wrong, I could feel it in my gut and I hated it... I wanted the feeling to go away, I was with Jam now, everything was going to be fine! It had to be!

After walking around a bit, a snake Demon came up to me, they smiled at me nicely.

"Are you lost, Princess?" They hummed in a curling voice.

I stopped and tilted my head. Were they flirting with me?

They chuckled softly, smiling some.

"Are you looking for Prince Jam?" Their smile didn't change, nothing about what they said changed.

I blinked softly as I felt my soul grow heavy. Prince Jam?

"Y-Yes?" I quickly bowed my head, shuffling backward some.

The snake Demon made an odd hissing, humming sound before their hand came reach out to me.

"He's at the training grounds, they're on the other side of the Castle, so let me show you the fastest way there." They sounded sweet.

Shakily, I took their hand. They wouldn't hurt me, not when Jam has marked me... They all seem so scared of him, so they won't do anything about it!

The Demon giggled some, gently taking me down a long string of corridors and into a few different rooms that happened to have a few secret passages. It wasn't long before we were there, at the training grounds. My body went cold at the sight though.

Jam was there, training with other Highs Class Demons, but they weren't training with Demonic magic... They were training with Angelic Magic.

"J-Jam?" My voice oddly rung out in the large space, my voice making him turn his head to me.

Within seconds it seemed, he was in front of me, bowing down some to smile lovingly at me.

"Hi, I thought you would be sleeping a bit more." He hummed out.

I gulped some, looking at the others before looking at him. His smile slowly fell the longer I stared at him.

"Freshy, what's wrong?" He sounded worried.

I gulped softly, backing away some.

"C-Can... We go to o-our room?" I murmured softly.

Jam's face fell, but he nodded some. He reached out to me, but I flinched away. His face fell more, his arm falling to his side.

After that, we went to our room, the long way around. The Demons ignored us... No, they were avoiding us, probably because of Jam's hard face. He looked so upset. So hurt.

I gently pulled at my fingers some as we walked around. I was probably just over thinking things... If I show him the prophecy, he could explain things to me... Clear things up!

Once at our room, I did that. I allowed him to read it over and over, listening to him mumble in his native tongue.

After some minutes, he was done reading it over. I couldn't look at him though, still pulling at my fingers.

Suddenly, a loud thump sounded in the room and before I could look to see what it was, my head was pulled up into a deep kiss!

I gasped as I felt Jam pick me up and hold me on his lap, rubbing my face softly. I relaxed at the gentle and sweet attention, but I was confused... Why was he doing this?

Gently, I pulled away, looking up at him.

"Jam?" I tilted my head some, my voice filled with worry.

My Demon chuckled, his gentle hands rubbing my face.

"You're scared that this will happen, aren't you?" He hummed with a smile sweet smile.

I nodded, relaxing into his hands.

"I-It can't really be us, right? It says that the people have to be a True Fallen and a Royal Demon!" I chirped softly, smiling to him.

A quiet laugh sounded from the Demon, making me look at him. He was laughing as if I had told a joke, but I didn't.

"And so what if we are?" He cooed out, smiling in such a way that it felt off.

"B-But the world could end!" I shook his hands off me, pulling away.

The Demon sighed some, his eyes softening some. He looked sad at my outburst, but why?

"Could. The world could end." He stated, quickly grabbing my hands. "Even if the world ended, we'll be safe! We could start it all over! Angels and Demons wouldn't have to fight!" He exclaimed, almost happily.

"N-No!" I yanked my hands away, backing from him. "W-We can't do that! N-No one should do t-that willingly!"

Jam's face fell some more, his eyes narrowing some. It wasn't threatening, but I didn't like it.

"J-Jam?" My voice sounded weak, even to my own ears.

His look softened as he blinked gently.

"Freshy, the world needs to change, but to do this the world has to fall. Besides, the Angels, the hypocritical Angels need-"

I stopped him with a shake of my head, tears starting to fall down my eyes. "No! No one needs to die like that! You're already so powerful, we don't need to bring a monster like them here!"

Jam sighed, his eyes hard. He wasn't going to change his mind. He was going to fall because of his hubris. I know he will...

"J-Jam! Y-You can't c-control something t-that old!" I tried to reach out to him, capturing his face in my hands. "Please, don't..." I lowered my voice, caressing his cheeks as I looked into his eyes.

His hard eyes softened for a moment before he brought me into a kiss. A loving and sweet kiss, a passionate kiss that I could only say was full of love and need.

As we kissed, me holding onto him, the air began to grow heavy. I had to pull away, my breathing hurting some. The air was still hard to take in, it was as if I was trying to breathe threw a straw!

Suddenly, warm hands grasped at me, hugging me close to a body. It was protective. Only then did I notice that the world was shaking, it was shaking horribly... Like it did in Heaven, but why was Hell shaking? It shouldn't be shaking!

I scrunched my eyes closed, clinging and curling to Jam. All I could focus on was the shaking, the difficulty I had in breathing and the same two questions flowing in my head.

Did Death's seal break and is the world ending?
