I cuddled close to Mr. Jam's side, tired.

He was just cradling me in his arm, rocking his body some. He just knows how to make me feel safe.

Mom was glaring at us. Well, more specifically, she was glaring at Jam. Everyone was, actually.

Had he done something wrong when he was Demon? Were they going to really hold that against him?

"Mr. Jam, they're-" I tried to tell him, but he soft cut me off.

"I know, they just don't like me holding Royalty." His voice became teasing, making me giggle sleepily.

This though, didn't settle with Mom.

"Stop talking to my child like that!" He growled, bearing his teeth some.

I frowned, tilting my head to look at Mom. He looked really angry.

Deep laughter fell from the monster holding me. His grip tightened some as he laughed, but it loosened when he finished.

"And why should I?" He sounded cocky. "It's not my fault he likes my jokes and parties."

At the mention of the parties, a bright smile spread across my face, my body moving up. I twisted my body to face him, my eyes glowing happily.

"Can we have another party?" My voice became pleading almost.

Another round of laughter fell from him, but his eyes looked so kind  and relaxed as he held them on me.

"Of course, though this time I'm thinking of having some Angel food." He had lowered his voice in a joking manner. It was like he was telling me a secret.

My eyes widen and my smile grew. Did he mean what-

"I mean what I say." He whispered, this time truly having lowered his voice.

A giggle left my body, relaxing me completely. I then cuddled back into his side,  nuzzling him some.

The other Angels glared at us, anger in most of their eyes and fear in the others. I didn't understand them. Mr. Jam was very nice, even if he could've lied about being a Rising. Honestly, that would be a small lie! A useless one, really.

"Glaring is rude, you know." The Demon told the group of Angels.

That was the wrong thing to say, as they instantly started to yell at him about something. A lot of words were being thrown around and jumbled together. There was also a lot of cursing and swearing, along with the word Devil.

My lips fell back into a frown. I reach a hand up and started to rub my head some, it was starting to hurt from all of their yelling.

The yelling increased some, making my head hurt more... It was also starting to scare me. I hadn't seen any of them so mad, so blood thirsty...

Mr. Jam's arms tightened around me some as he spoke one word.

"Enough."

The room fell silent at his firm and calm voice. Everyone stared at him, fear replacing any anger they had.

I felt my head being tilted up, were I was looking to my Demon friend.

Behind his sunglasses I could see he was annoyed, maybe even anger, yet his fingers softly caressed my cheek.

"Are you okay?" He murmured.

I blinked a couple of times before nodding slowly.

He continued to rub my cheek softly, his entire attention focused on me. He was so sweet and kind.

I felt my eyes grow heavy, which made him look away from me. I wanted to whine at that, but I couldn't when he was putting me to sleep so effortlessly.

"I'm here for a meeting, not a fight." His deep voice grumbled, making his chest shake some.

There were a few rough whispers, but I was too tired to care. Mom or Jam would tell if anything important happened.
