"It's only pretty if you take a look at it closely. You have to look at it for a long time to realize that it's lovely."

--School 2013"I can't believe she would do such a thing."
"I can. She's my sister. There's nothing I don't know about her."
"Then, why didn't you tell me? It would have been easier on me."
"You don't even like her like that. Plus, I knew that the moment I told you her name was on the list, you'd tell her what you found out and she'd most likely try to run."
I sighed and slumped in my seat. Hayden chuckled and continued driving. We were on our way to meet with Jackson once again. He had called us to ask about what we'd found out. I was afraid to say anything, but I was sure he knew almost everything. There was nothing he didn't know. I wouldn't be surprised if he knew where we were at this moment.
"Anyway, you know Lexi isn't that trustworthy. Why'd she ask you to stay in her house knowing what she was going to do on Saturday?" Hayden reasoned.
"...I don't know. Maybe to keep the blame off of herself," I said. "Lexi is that smart."
"Not smart enough if she happened to look at the camera and leave a witness alive."
True. I didn't know what to say to that. To be honest, I hadn't pegged Lexi as a secretive woman. She had always been straightforward with me. Not unless she thought she was being smart and keeping it away from me. What if she knew something about me before I knew about her? Of course she'd have to if she didn't say anything to me. Lexi told me she trusted me a whole lot. Of course she lied. I should have known.
Over the past couple of days, I didn't expect anything to be revealed this fast. Lexi was always a reserved woman. Never had she ever stepped out of line. Except when she kept calling me last week. I haven't seen her do nothing more than go to Luxury Therapy and check in with her directors and producers since I got here. But, I guess people you trust the most tend to be your worst enemies.
"What are we going to do after seeing Jackson?" I asked. "I don't think we can approach Lexi about this without her knowing what we do."
"Of course not. She's too smart and attentive for that." Hayden handed me the packet. "Last I heard, she was at her headquarters. If the meeting goes as planned we could drop by just to make our presence known. Just because she's my sister...doesn't mean I won't throw her under the bus."
"You do it to me, what makes you think I think your sister deserves better treatment?"
Crazy, I know. Hayden had never been that type of guy. He never put the important people in his life over one another. If he was mad with Lexi about being stupid, he'd get mad at me for being stupid. If a friend of his was being annoying and he confronted them about it, he wouldn't hesitate to tell me what he thought about myself. Living with him...I'll claim that over living alone.
"Lexi is on my side, but I don't know how long she's going to keep up what she's doing," Jackson explained. "I know it may not seem like she's doing all of this for me, but she has to keep a low profile somehow."
"What is she going to do with the drive if she can't get it to you personally?" I asked.
"That shouldn't be a problem for her. But, if it comes to that, there are people who will help her get it for me."
"Wait...did we come all the way here for nothing?" Hayden asked. "If so, I'd like to go back to my hotel and sleep some more."
"No. Luca, Cameron, and Wayne are onto her. If they find out where she's hidden the drive, they'll either force her to give it to them or--Yeah, she's doomed."
