"I have a lot of knowledge, but I don't know when and how it should be used."

"I am so tired of that cunt. She's always trying to squeeze her way back into our relationship. Mending friendships never work over the phone."
"...Mhm."
"Are you just agreeing with us because it's true? Or you're not listening?"
"It's true and I wasn't listening for the past couple of minutes."
Tamera sighed and pulled my phone out of my hand.
"This is taking up too much of your time. It's girl time and your kids are right in front of you. If you're going to be on this thing, then ask Derek for a picture or I will."
"No, you will not," I snapped. "It's not that I don't want to listen, but Sha'Kayla and I have been friends for forever. What she did to Lexi isn't forgivable, but even my relationship with her beats how long I've known Lexi."
"You're gonna throw away what you have with a celebrity for a whore?" Abby snatched my phone from Tamera. "I'm gonna delete her number, because there's no way I'm allowing you to keep answering her calls."
"She'll come running back," I muttered.
"Of course she will. And when she does, Tamera and I are going to be waiting for her."
Their hysteria wasn't helping my case. Yes, Sha'Kayla is going too far with this forgiveness thing, but she and I have been through a lot together. Cheating with a married man or not, what she does is wrong and quite unforgivable. But, I would never throw away our friendship to help a woman I've been iffy with throughout the eight or so years we've known each other. Kayla deserves some closure.
I crossed my arms.
"You really think that?" Tamera scoffed.
"What? What do I really think?" I looked at both of them.
"You think you said that in your mind? You just dissed us and Lexi aloud," Abby growled.
Well shiii--
"That's it! We're gone. This was supposed to be our day where we act like girls for once in our lives and you just ruined it. Tamera and I aren't going to take this kind of talk from you anymore. It's annoying and Sha'Kayla needs to be dealt with accordingly. If you won't do it, then we will. And I mean that."
"Sorry?" I tried halfheartedly.
"Sorry won't cut it this time, sugar," Tamera said. "You crossed the line this time. If she even breathes in your direction whenever she comes back, I don't think we can be friends anymore."
"Guys, it's not that serious. You have to understand--"
"What else would we have to understand? It seems that you tolerate her more than you claim to love us."
Abby tossed my phone back at me and they stood up. I couldn't say anything. They were right. But, in my defense, I can be an airhead at times. They know that. It's not like I can just walk away from a friendship. It's not as easy as walking away from a real relationship with a man. It's weird, I know, but I find it easier to let Hayden go than to let my girls leave my side.
When I could see them no longer, I let my head drop in shame. I hope no one else heard that. They were being pretty loud. I snuck a look at the people around me, but they weren't worried about me. Either that or they were being as respectful as they could. I guess it's an everyday thing to see friends argue in Manhattan. There's something about this stupid borough.
