"Trust and love are two different words. You can love someone...even if you don't trust them."
-- Temperature of love
I swear some men are idiots. No, all men are idiots. If there's some guy you know who isn't an idiot, please tell me. I live in a world of idiots. Especially with my husband. I swear he has the brain of a freaking cow. Not knowing nothing besides eating and sleeping.
"I swear to God I will divorce him."
"Then, do it. It's not like anyone cares about him."
"...What about his sister?"
"What about her?"
"God, she's literally my sister. I couldn't do that to her."
"You act like it's the end of the world. She isn't going to kill you if you divorce him."
"You don't know Lexi like I do. She's literally Satan. I'd die before he gets done signing all the papers. What will I do?"
Sha'Kayla shook her head and frowned. She picked up her drink and took a small sip. She was acting like this wasn't really important. I got a call from one of his exes saying that he had been sleeping with her for two months. It seemed like this was either revenge for marrying him, she didn't like me, or Hayden was really cheating. I wanted to believe it was revenge and that person didn't like me.
"Queen," she started. "why don't we just pretend you didn't get the call. How was your day? Did Jacobi ask you to do anything more?"
"No. After I sent you the information, he told me I could leave," I said.
"That was five hours ago. Where did you go after getting off?"
I sighed, not wanting to tell her where I had gone. What I had done.
"...I went...to go think. Yeah. I went to go think."
"You expect me to believe that? I know you went to see who the girl was. I can ask anyone who knows you and they'd say you most likely went to beat her up."
"I'll admit it," I said. "But, she deserved it. I don't want some woman calling me about sleeping with my husband. I keep tabs on him for a reason."
"Then, why the heck are you really assuming he did sleep with her?" she demanded. "I swear you're acting out to get some attention. Are you going to pretend you don't know what fame is?"
"KayKay, I seriously don't like liars and she's the biggest one I've met all year."
Sha'Kayla stood up from her seat.
"Just so you know, even if you're not Blue Ace anymore doesn't mean you should act out. I think you should talk to Hayden about it. He isn't really the type to cheat. Especially on someone as cute as you, queen."
"I hate you for that." She was telling the truth. He would never cheat on me. Plus, he never mentioned any of the women he worked with. Not even from the hospital. How could he possibly start now? Does he really want a divorce? Would he really go this far?
"Anyway, I'm going. I have an interview with someone across the country."
"Can't they have someone else do it? You live in New York."
"They know and I'm the best they have at this point."
"...That's what they want you to believe."
"Could you not?" she asked. "I'm leaving. I'll call you when I get on the plane. Tell Tamera that we'll most definitely go on a girl's trip when I get back."
