T.W: swearing, kicking out for sexuality Mention and Mention of drugs
=~•Virgil's POV•~=
I awoke to the smell of waffles, entering my room from the crack at the bottom of my door. We never have pancakes unless we have someone over, do we? That was when I remembered the events from yesterday and who was staying with us. I went over towards my wardrobe and took out black, ripped jeans, a dark purple shirt and my hoodie that I never leave unless dirty. I brushed my hair quickly before darting out of my room. The smell increased as I got closer to the kitchen. As soon as I made my way down to the door, it swung open hitting me dead on the face. Ouch. I looked at who it was and it turned out to be my mother who was now checking my face for injuries while spurting apologies.

After that incident, I walked into the room and sat down at our table. I saw Janus sitting at the other end while my mum was making breakfast for us. Janus looked at me and his face turned shocked.
"What, is there something on my face?" I questioned, slightly worried.
"You mean what isn't on your face," he said which confused me greatly. My breakfast was sat in front of me when I realised what he meant. I wasn't wearing makeup. Oh well, I was very self conscious but I was definitely lazier. We finished breakfast when the bus began coming down the road. I stood up quickly and wished my parents a goodbye before walking out of the door swiftly. I could hear Janus trying to keep up with me as I made it to the bus.

"Why are you going so fucking fast?" He yelled from behind me when I stepped onto the bus. I peered over my shoulder to see him about 3 feet away from me, sprinting as fast as he could. I took a seat at the back, which was surprisingly empty, near the window. I felt someone's presence next to me, and I turned around to see Christine sitting next to me. She looked as though she had been crying with red, puffy eyes and her hair covering her face. Janus sat next to her and looked at me with confusion. Christine was breaking down now and I didn't know what to do.
I'm not good with kids! I patted her on her back and she was soon crying into my hoodie sleeve. To say I was awkwardly sitting there would be an understatement.

"Hey kid what happened?" Janus soon spoke up after seeing my uncomfortable face. She looked up at him then to me before laughing lightly. I was quite confused as to why but I thought nothing of it. She was quiet for a bit before sitting up and wiping her cheeks with the back of her hand.
"I told... my family about.. m-me being p.. pansexual and I got kicked.. out," she admitted to me which thoroughly confused me. Her brothers were the gay royalty in school yet she got kicked out for being pan. How is that- Wait have the twins not come out to their parents? And I thought their dad was a retired hero so shouldn't he accept everyone. I looked over to Janus who was sitting there with an expression saying 'been there, done that'. Okay my parents always did want a girl. No I am not doing this again. I already took Janus I can't have another new person. Actually, yeah I can my parents are to nice to say no to me.

"You could bunk with me and my family, like banana boi over there," I said pointing to Janus who acted mock offended at the name. My house does have 5 bedrooms so we can have another person, right? Her eyes lit up at my suggestion before embracing me in a bone-crushing hug.
"Really!?" She asked hopefully to which I just nodded. Janus was looking at me with slight shock at my kindness to which I returned his mock offence. The bus ride was normal but Christine still looked upset. When we got off the bus the October air was now biting at all of our cheeks and she was just in a mall summer dress. I stood there for a sec, before handing her my flannel purple shirt that I always keep in my bag and gave it to her. She hugged me quickly before running of with the shirt over the top of her dress. I saw her run over to her brothers before being enveloped into a hug.

"Wow I didn't know you could be kind," Janus said in playful shock and in return I pushed him onto the floor in the mud.
"So mature wow," he laughed before picking himself up and going into the school, leaving me behind as I dashed to get back to him. I caught up to him relatively quickly before being caught by a jump hug on my back. Janus turned to see Remus on my back in a hug that was strangling me a bit. He can't even hug properly without trying to kill ya.
"Thank you for taking my little rat sister in," he exclaimed loudly, drawing attention to us in the hall. I tried to shake him off but he was hugging me like a sloth to a tree branch. And he was heavy. Like extremely heavy. Janus was biting his lip to most likely stifle a laugh that if he had projected, I would have murdered him in his sleep. The bell rang and Remus slid off before running to class or to do drugs behind the school or something. I would have to have 5 baths tonight if I ever wanted to be clean again.

Janus and I shared a homeroom and we began walking towards our class at the end of the hallway. We entered the classroom only to be caught by the teacher when we tried to slip in unnoticed.
"Heyyyyyyy teach," I spoke calmly, dragging out the 'y' to sound more innocent but probably made me look even guilty.
"What are you two doing being late?" She spoke in her squeaky voice that could put Minnie Mouse's to shame.
"Probably being gay!" One of the jocks that throws random slurs at me (some not even offensive to the LGBTQ+ community) exclaimed, getting a laugh out of the simple minded individuals. The teacher said nothing about this but instead started shouting at us for being 30 seconds late. It was a Monday and I was too tired for this shit.
"Miss-" Janus tried to reason before being cut off by the teacher in her squawking voice.
"Mrs! I am married!"
"Really that's a surprise," I said loud enough for her to hear but to not make it obvious that I wanted her too. The students were all laughing and even Logan had a small smirk on his face, watching this go down.
"Whatever, Miss if you would like to know, we slept in due to the fact that we were chased yesterday by people who were trying to kill us. Is that a good enough excuse?" Janus questioned and his visible eye turned a pale yellow and so did the teacher's.

"Yes... you may sit down in your chairs," she told us before her eyes turned back to her hazel ones as we went to sit down. Homeroom finished a few minutes after this encounter, me and Janus parted ways to head to our separate classes. I kept my head on a swivel as I knew that those 3 who had chased us must have been in our school. One of the heroes sounded like Logan so I kept my eyes out for him, Remus told us about Roman's powers which were exactly the same as fire boy and light blue boy acted much like Patton and used the word kiddo. Classes flew past quickly with zero incidents, along with lunch and the last two classes.

My last class was run by Thomas and Remus and Patton shared the class with me. Thomas did history and always played Hamilton in the background when we learned about him. He also made sure to add little gay facts about who we were studying if they had any. He was the openly gay teacher and had a rainbow flag hanging at the back. He was the teacher people would go to for advice for coming out. Everyone enjoyed being in his class, even the school homophobes who would go out of their way to destroy gays. Class sped by as we learned about George Washing machine and his life (I don't know American history😅). When class ended, me and Remus walked up to his desk to talk with him about powers and stuff, when Janus barged in with Christine. He looked like a tired mum and Christine looked super hyper.

"Virgil... tell me next time... if someone has... powers!" Janus yelled through huffs to catch his breath.
"How was I supposed to know?!" I exclaimed.
"She's your friend!"
"And She is Remus' sister!"
We both stared at Remus who looked completely lost in thought, if he even does think, at what we were saying.
"V I can run super fast!" She exclaimed before darting at me for a hug.
"Thomas talk to you tomorrow yeah and Remus she'll probably be safer in our house than on the street okay," they both nodded and we left to go home.

We made it to my house and Christine looked really excited. Janus knocked on the door as I had lost my keys a while back before school even started this year. The door opened to show my mum standing there. She looked at me, then Janus, then to Christine and then back to me.
"V," she said.
"Yes mum," I asked in a sickly sweet and innocent tone.
"V, stop stealing kids," she complained in a joking manner before opening the door for us to walk in. Christine greeted herself to my parents and settled in quite quickly without any concerns. I only had one concern though, how the digidy dog does she have powers that are nothing like her brothers? The evening went swiftly and night approached. I left to my room after wishing everyone a goodnight. I fell asleep quickly, hoping that I didn't have to take in another person tomorrow.

Before anyone says anything, there is a reason to why I added Christine to the mix of madness. So just wait, also how do you like Christine? I think she's quite cool. The next chapter will be more relevant to the story and more about being heroes so yeah there's that. Until next time, adios!
