Chapter 22

Ethan stared at the girl across him who was busy playing with the little kitten on the ground, she was holding a feather cat toy wand as Rufus jumped excitedly over her feet to try to claw it.

A giggle escaped her when Rufus clumsily tumbled over her feet and fell to the other side, only to stand back up a few seconds later and jumping around frantically again to play.

Ethan secretly glances over his shoulder to an old video recorder he had borrowed from his aunt. It was placed on top of the table as if it was a decoration, but in actually, it had been recording every second of her action, expression and voice she did in his room.

He could only hope she wouldn't notice the red beeping light he had tried to hide with a cloth.

One day, when she was comfortable enough with him, he would eventually do it in the open, and if she said she didn't like it, he promised himself he would stop, depending on the occasions, that is. Ethan was, a flexible man.

Ethan would never share her photos or videos, it was a prized possession only for him, even the items he used to record it should not ever be touched by anyone other than him.

He didn't deserve her, that he knew all too well, she was far too out of his league and too pure to be with someone so tainted like him. Ethan was not good enough for her, but no one is and no one shall be. And most people, good or bad, have limits to what they could offer to an angel like her, a goddess, a human being worth far more than the rest.

Ethan had none. No God, morals or faith could contradict or stop him from worshiping and loving her.

He would do anything she told him to, even the things that sounded impossible or ridiculous, he would do it for her.

He truly believed, he could do anything, if she was with him.

He could steal the moon for her, he would cross the Bermuda Triangle if she was curious, and he would, he'd especially would kill those who she didn't like or dare to separate her from him.

Ethan was never a sane man to begin with,

Leah was both, his sanity and insanity.

An adorable shriek made his head snap from his intense deep thoughts to see the little kitten slipping underneath her school skirt. Ethan frowned a little in distaste.

'He is just a little kitten; he is just a small harmless animal that I could end if I so wanted to' Ethan repeated inside his head like a mantra to keep him from ripping the poor animal from Leah.

"How was school?" Ethan asked after a while, wanting to know more about her and hearing her dulcet voice that gave him calmness.

Leah met his eyes briefly before looking back down to rub Rufus. "School was fine" she replied, then glancing back at him with a cheeky smile.

"What about you? Have you been going but not attending to your classes again?" she teased,

Ethan's cheeks reddened as his hands rubbed the back of his neck in shame. "How did you know?" he asked embarrassingly.

For a moment, Leah blinked in confusion, before her eyes widened and laughter burst out from her, "Wait, you're serious? I only meant it as a joke" she said in between her laughter.

The brown haired male's cheek blossomed even more. Great, not only did he unintentionally reveal himself to her but now she was really going to think that he was a typical delinquent kid.
