Chapter 10
The last school bell rang and Ethan who was sitting at the back of the school, skipping his classes, stood up and got ready to pick Leah up from her school. He walked through the bustling hallway, students parted ways for him as he strode intimidatingly, not flashing a gaze nor a smile to anyone.
That was only reserved for a certain blonde.
As he was about to exit the hell, a boy bumped his back against him while he was laughing with his friends.
Ethan lifted his head at him and shot his deadliest glare. The boy whimpered in fear, "Sorry..." he murmured nervously before fleeing faster than Usain Bolt.
Ethan grumbled underneath his breath, irritated at everything about his school. He couldn't wait to see her, a smile spread on his face as he thought of Leah. Yes, he was infatuated by the beautiful blonde.
Why? He didn't know.
His best guess was that it was a crush. He couldn't quite say since he hadn't had the experience to even feel anything close to a crush before.
Every single thing she did, her eyes, her smile, her laugh, all of it made his heart pound like he had run a marathon, his hands turn clammy from sweat and an odd sensation ran through him. Ethan had never felt this way before for someone.
He walked to her school, his eyes brightened slightly when he saw the building. Ethan walked on the sidewalk, heading towards the familiar lamp he would always wait near but as he went there, he saw the back of two boys in dark red uniforms standing there, their trousers was a check pattern with red, white, blue and grey color.
One of them had dirty blondish hair and another had black hair. The one with blonde hair had his blazer resting in his arm leaving only his white shirt. Ethan couldn't quite see their faces.
Was there another private school close by?
Ethan was going to ignore them, until he heard a familiar name escaping one of the two boys.
"Leah"
Ethan whipped his head at the direction so quick, he was surprised his neck didn't snap from the impact. There, he saw Leah standing Infront of the boy with blonde hair, beside her was a girl with a mixed feature who was staring openly at the other boy.
"Nathan, what are you doing here?" he heard her asking.
Ethan's hand involuntarily form a fist at his sides, a strong raging desire to suddenly punch something increase. She knew him?
'Who the hell was this guy?' he asked inside his head angrily.
He felt every fiber inside him, burn in jealousy at every scene involving Leah with this, this pest he wanted to so badly get rid of.
This 'Nathan' creature, let out a chuckle as if whatever it is she said made him laugh. "I told you that you can call me Nate if you want..." he said, Ethan couldn't see his face from his view but he knew it would look perfect with a purple bruise across it.
Leah didn't reply, simply casting him a questioning look.
Just that one look would cause Ethan to melt, had it been him she was looking at.
"Are you girls heading home? If you're not busy, how about we go and hang out around here together?" Nathan proposed causing Ethan's eyes to hardened as the steam slowly increase temperature inside him. He was boiling mad.
Leah seemed as if she was about to decline, seeing her uncomfortable and awkward face she had, but the girl beside her wore an obviously ecstatic expression. "Sure!"
"Great" Nathan said happily, reaching for Leah's hand to pull her along, when his hand was suddenly halted mid-air.
Four heads snapped towards Ethan's direction as he gripped the boy's arm from coming in contact with her flawless soft skin. If he saw it happen, he wouldn't be responsible as to what might happen to the Nathan boy.
Even if it was just a simple small touch.
Without sparing any of them a glance, Ethan tilted his head to meet the pair of beautiful hazel eyes staring at him in surprise. "Leah" he called out gently with a small goofy smile.
"Ethan" Leah echoed back, her eyes falling to the strong bruising grip he had around Nathan's wrist. Ethan immediately let go, he didn't want to seem scary and intimidating to his Leah.
Even though, all he could think was sending the boy into a hospital, he didn't want to scare her away.
"How was school?" his attempt to look calm and collected seem futile because his whole body was desperately begging to either, pull Leah away from anyone and everyone around them, or punch the boy's face for ever so as to breathing her air.
Leah lifted an eyebrow, sensing the tension, from the corner of her eye, she saw Becca gawking at Ethan in surprise then to her, her expression read 'Jesus, this is the guy?' in bold letters.
"It was good. How about you?" Leah replied back politely with a small smile as a habit. Seeing her smile, even if it was little, it surely did wonders to his heart as his face begin to mirror hers. Beautiful.
"It was alright" Ethan's words were a bit rush from badly wanting to drag her away from these people. "Now let's go?"
Without paying attention to anyone, Ethan reached his hand slowly to grab her clothed wrist, he didn't want to surprise her of his contact because he didn't want her to feel uncomfortable. He would do it in her own pace first, but also make aware of his feelings.
Ethan tugged her hand forward and pull her away from the remaining three people who was slowly gawking at him and her. He didn't pay them any heed, even when the blonde guy started calling them. Ethan just simply fastened his pace.
"You seem angry"
Ethan turned his head to Leah as they waited at the traffic light, he saw her tilting her head, solely looking at him, just like how it should be and he smiled softly. "Now I am not" he answered.
As they walked towards his aunt's café, Leah following beside him until Ethan stopped Infront of his motorbike parked Infront of the shop. Leah glanced at him questioningly.
"Is this fine?" Ethan asked hopefully as he held a helmet for her. Leah stared at it for a moment before lifting her head up to meet Ethan's. Her eyes searched for something from his face, Ethan held his breath the whole time.
After a while, she finally looks down and sighed loudly before taking the helmet.
"We're friends" she said, more so to herself.
The corner of Ethan's lip slowly twitches into a smile, "We are" and will be so much more in the future, he said inside his head quietly as he helped her strap the helmet over her head before riding on the front.
Ethan glance at Leah over his shoulder, "Hop on"
Leah stared at the inviting back and felt her cheeks reddened in in embarrassment as to what she was about to do. She hesitantly took a step forward, her fingers fidgeting with the strap of her bag as she lifts her feet up and sat above the motorbike and clamp her skirt.
Ethan waited patiently for Leah to feel comfortable on the leather seat, his eyes softening at the sight of her red cheeks and her furrowing eyebrows. She looked absolutely stunning all frustrated and shy.
His eyes involuntarily fell down to her skirt, seeing it slightly ridden up as she spread her legs on the seat. His cheeks reddened as dirty thoughts flare inside his head.
Quickly, Ethan faced forward and cleared his throat loudly as he removed his leather jacket before handing it to the person behind him without looking back.
"This... Uhh, for your... for your skirt... The wind can be strong..." he stuttered as his heart pounded and his cheeks reddened. Leah stared at the cloth in his hand for a while before taking it from him and placing it securely around her to waist to let the weight cover it from flying up.
"Thank you" she whispered, feeling her cheeks redden even more.
