Chapter 15

"Sorry, did you wait too long?"

Ethan smiled at her softly and shake his head, "I just arrived"

The cute girl standing across him in her sweater school uniform furrowed her eyebrows and frowned, Ethan's lip twitched into a secret smile seeing her adorable angry face.

"You say that all the time, even when I caught you waiting" Leah mumbled while her hands crossed around her chest. Ethan's eyes fell down to follow her movement, he couldn't help it, she was too irresistible. Even with her uniform shirt not showing any skin and her skirt not too short to be indecent, she was still too sexy.

"Ethan?"

Ethan cleared his throat, shaking himself from the dark thoughts he had just put himself in, he lifted his head to stare at Leah and offered her a warm smile,

"Shall we go?"

As they were walking side by side crossing the road, at the supposed corner Leah always turned to walk towards her house, Ethan suddenly tugged her hand.

Leah turned to cast him a questioning look.

"Let's try a different route today" Ethan said with a smile, to be honest, he felt like the route between the school and her house was really short but he wanted to spend most of his time with her.

Growing more comfortable, Leah only hesitated for a few seconds before walking beside him, he sighed inwardly, Ethan couldn't help but wonder how exactly does he break her borders.

"Is there anything you'd like to ask me about?" he asked as they walked beside a park Ethan would casually stroll around as it was close to his house.

Leah looked at him confusedly, "Hmm?"

Ethan looked away, feeling shy as his cheeks reddened, "It's just... I am always curious about you; I wonder if you feel the same..."

"I do actually" Ethan snapped his head towards the girl walking beside him wide-eyed, Leah tilted her head to meet his eye briefly before facing forward, her hands holding a novel around her arm.

"I feel the same."

"You do?" Ethan breathed out, feeling his heart beating widely.

Leah hummed, pushing one strand of her brownish-blonde locks behind her ear as a wind pass by, "I am actually curious about a lot of things. Like what is school like for you or why do you act the way you do" she mumbled, moving her head to the other side,

"And are you close with your aunt, do you guys live together, do you have siblings or a pet?" She continued to ramble aimlessly with a small smile,

"But the question that most bothered me is probably why you're still hanging around me"

Ethan halted in his steps.

Leah continued walking, only stopping when she walked five steps ahead as she moved her head beside her to take notice. She then looked over her right shoulder and stare at Ethan curiously.

"Ethan?"

"Leah," Ethan begins lowly, a frown on his handsome face. He slowly took a step forward, prowling towards her. He didn't want to intimidate her but man, did what she said last irritated him.

Leah didn't back away once he was right In front of her, only lifting her head up to meet his and her body turning completely to face him. Ethan closed his eyes, trying to keep his emotions at bay before slowly bending down to match her height, once their eyes were leveled across each other, he stared at her intensely.

"You are the most interesting, most unique and most amazing person I was blessed to ever meet with. I'd be a fool to let to you go"

He stared into her light hazel eyes with a look that could only be described as pure devotion. He wouldn't hesitate to even jump over a puddle to have her walk on him, and he would kiss the path she had walked on, he could build a shrine for her if she wanted to.

Ethan loves her, very, very much, almost too much but she didn't need to know that, not yet at least.

He had never felt so strong about a person before, after the event surrounding him as a child, he had closed off all of his emotions for other people. He wouldn't be vulnerable and weak again, he had become stronger, but with her, with her he didn't really mind if he was weak for her. She was both his weakness and strength.

Hedoubted she felt the same but he could only hope one day she would eventually.

'There was no rush' he thought, even if he wanted to move very fast, he wanted her to feel comfortable with him first.

"You barely even know me" Leah had said, breaking him from staring into her hazel eyes so long as it hypnotizes him. He noticed the slight tug in smile from her face, as if what he said amuses her.

"I am not kidding" he said seriously.

Leah chuckled and shake her head slightly, taking a step back to create a distance between them, she had surprisingly suppress the urge to look away or even take a step back, when they had stare into one another for too long,

Ethan was a little too close for her liking. She couldn't say that she was fully comfortable with him but she wanted to explore it and give it a try first before breaking it off. So she decided to simply follow what he does and see if it was compatible with her or not, who knows, he might just be an important friend.

They continue walking,

"I think you're interesting" she stated.

"You barely even know me" Ethan mimic in a high voice causing a fit of laughter from the girl beside him, he smiled warmly at that.

"You skip schools and always seemed like you're ready to start a fight, but you listen to your aunt and help her when she asks you to, and so far you're been very nice to me"

"I am glad you know" he blurted out, Leah shot him a weird look before shaking her head slightly with a small smile,

"You're weird Ethan"

As they walked beside the long park, passing kids playing in the playground and people sitting on the park benches while talking or minding their own business, they passed a few neatly trimmed bushes along the way, when suddenly Leah heard a rustling sound.

She turned to one of the bushes and exchange glances with Ethan, Ethan stood In-front of her, covering her just in case if it was a snake or something worse, he walked closer to it and he could feel Leah behind him close by as she gave him a long stick.

Using the stick, Ethan pushed it in between the bushes and moved it slowly until he felt an obstacle.

A loud gasp could be heard behind him and before he knew it, he was shoved lightly from behind and Leah quickly bend down In-front of the bushes as she coon loudly, offering her arms.

"Leah, wait-"

A low meow cut him mid-sentence as a little ginger kitten emerged from the bushes, trembling slightly as its fur at the lower side near it's paws, was completely soak with mud and dirt.

"It's a little baby" Leah let out as she took out a cloth that was in her bag, and wrapped the little kitten with it like a cocoon.

"Oh my god, you are so precious" she let out as she cradled the little kitten. And like a child who had finally reunite with it's a mother, the little kitten stops meowing, lean its body weight into hers through the cloth and bask in the warmth that only she could offer.

Great. Ethan thought,

Another rival.
