17 years later

Yesterday evening Reginald Hargreeves has died. The reason for that was heart attack.

Pogo earlier that morning has asked Vanya to come back to the academy to pay respect and throw his ashes. She was sceptical about going since her siblings are not the biggest fan of her right now. Not like they liked her before either but now it's just worse. Ever since she decided to publish her book about living as number 7.

Vanya took a deep breath before opening the big door and entering the academy. Her home once.

Looking around Vanya noticed that nothing's change ever since she moved out. Almost like the house been stuck in time.

"Vanya?"

Vanya turned around upon hearing someone call her name.

"You actually came." Allison said walking up to Vanya.

"Hi." Vanya said very unsure and anxious. Getting yelled at wasn't the first thing she wanted hear. However to her surprise Allison hugged her. Reluctantly she hugged Allison back in fear Allison will roughly push her back as a joke.

Suddenly they heard a scoff.

"What is she doing here?" Diego said coming through the front door. "She doesn't belong here. Not after what she did."

"You seriously going to do this today?" Allison sighed tiredly at Diego but he continued to walk up the stairs away from them. "Way to dress for the occasion."

"At least I'm wearing black." Was the last thing he said before disappearing.

"He's right. I shouldn't be here. I should-"

"Ignore him." Allison cut Vanya off. "I'm happy you could make it." She smiled softly at her sister.

"Have you seen (y/n) yet?" Vanya asked after a moment of silence, placing her hands into her pockets.

"No. I was actually going to see her now. Would you like to join?" Allison asked her and Vanya nodded in agreement.

They walked to (y/n)'s room in awkward silence. Neither of them knew what to speak about and neither of them wanted to pry in each others lives so they decided that silence was better.

Soon later they arrived at her door. It was plain brown door, just like any other of their bedroom doors.

Vanya took her hand out of her pocket and softly opened the door. It slightly creaked due to not much movement over the years.

There laid (y/n) on her bed, in her blue umbrella academy pyjamas they all had to wear as kids. They had a strict code on uniform but they were allowed to wear their own clothes during their days off.

The two sisters walked into the room and sat by (y/n)'s bed.

"She literally hasn't aged a day." Allison breathed out when she looked closely at her sister.

Her (h/c) hair was still (h/l) and shiny. Her skin was smooth and clear. No signs of acne or wrinkles. By the looks of how she laid on her back, Allison assumed her height didn't change either.

"No, she has not." Vanya said softly as she gazed at her friend dearly. Even with the tubes and wires everywhere her sister was still breathtaking. Vanya could only imagine how many hearts (y/n) would've been able to capture if she wasn't in a coma and grew up like the rest of her siblings.

"How long has it been since Five's disappeared and (y/n) falling into a coma?" Allison suddenly asked.

"It's been 16 years, four months and 14 days since Five disappeared." Pogo suddenly said from the door to (y/n) room. "And 16 years, 1 month and 3 days since (y/n)'s coma."
