"The world ends in 8 days and I have no clue how to stop it."
After hearing that Vanya stopped tapping the cotton on Five's arm to gape at him.
After seeing Vanya's confusion Five started to explain what he meant.
"Do you know what I found when I jumped and got stuck in the future?" He asked rhetorically. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing." He stared at Vanya as she resumed to clean his wound.
"I honestly believed I was the only one alive until I found (y/n). She wasn't entirely dead but she barely was alive either." Five closed his eyes in pain recoiling the awful memory.
Vanya looked at Five in shock. It was impossible for her to believe that (y/n) would've been awake since father never actually found a way to cure her.
"It was so awful, Vanya." Five started say tearing up a bit. "She died in my arms and there was nothing I could do to help her."
Vanya looked at him in shock and pity. Having someone close to you die in your arms is very heartbreaking.
"She gave this to me right before she passed away." Five said taking the picture of them three from his pocket making Vanya stop what she was doing with his arm.
"Always kept it close to me whenever I felt like I couldn't push anymore." Five explained, his eyes glossy and tears threatening to fall but he blinked them away. Placing the picture back in his pocket safely, he gave his arm back to Vanya so she can finish up bandaging. "Of course I never figured out what caused to apocalypse."
"How did you survive for so long?" Vanya bit her lip. She couldn't stop thinking about what Five told her about (y/n). That means in the next 8 days (y/n) is going to wake up. She will be able to have her friend back. The only one that truly understood her and it made her a bit excited.
"Mostly on canned food and cockroaches." Five then scoffed harshly. "You know the rumour that twinkies have endless shelf life? Yeah total bullshit." Five fixed his sleeve back when Vanya was done fixing his arm.
When he looked back at her she seemed like she was searching something.
"You think I'm crazy." Five's face fell. She was too young to understand the danger that was coming. Too naive.
"No of course not. It's just a lot to take it."
"What don't you understand?" Five said in disbelief. He thought everything was straightforward.
"I mean, the world ending, you being stuck in 13 year old body and potentially (y/n) waking up soon." Vanya listed. "Seems so surreal."
Five clicked his tongue and got up from his chair and proceed to walk out. "You're too young." He muttered.
"Wait... wait! Five!"
Five turned around just before he was about to leave.
"Don't go now and stay the night. I haven't seem you in a long time and I've missed you. I don't want to loose you again. Not when (y/n) is so close to waking up too." Vanya quickly said making Five stop in his tracks. "Here you can sleep on the couch." She place a blanket on the couch and went towards her bedroom.
"Goodnight."
"Night."
Five plopped himself back on the couch and sighed. He took the prosthetic eye from his pocket and glared at it. He needs to figure out whose this is so he can stop them. But he can't go now as the place opens at 7am. He could go back to the academy and look through dad's notes on (y/n) but he figured they were either in code or all locked in a safe.
He decided to take a short nap and would leave just before the prosthetic place opens to see if he can find any information on it.

Five sat in the chair next to (y/n) sulking. The visit this morning wasn't at all successful and he had to retreat without getting any extra information. He will have to think of a different plan and go back there.
When he returned to the academy, Five paid visit to his dads office and he was right about his notes being locked in a safe. Not even Pogo knew the combination to them and it frustrated Five to no end. Surely, Reginald had nothing to loose now since he was dead so why keep his notes a secret?
Five groaned in frustration and rubbed his face. However his anger vanished when he looked at (y/n) peacefully laying on her bed. He took a look at the monitor that was monitoring her heart and brain activity and saw that nothing changed.
Suddenly, he heard Vanya call his name out. He felt guilty for leaving without saying anything but he couldn't involve her more. Not like she would understand anyways.
"Oh there you are. I was worried sick about you." She said as she entered (y/n)'s room.
"Sorry I left without saying goodbye." Five said moving his head to the side to look at Vanya.
"No I should be sorry. I was very dismissive. I just couldn't process what you were saying. Still can't to be quite honest." Vanya explain as she walked in and sat on (y/n)'s bed.
"It's fine. Dad did say time can mess up the mind." Five forced a smile.
"There was this therapist I used to see. Maybe I could give you their contact details?" Vanya sympathised with Five. Being stuck in the future alone could start playing tricks on the mind.
"No it's fine thanks." Five waved her off. "If you don't mind I would like to stay alone here with (y/n). Haven't seen her for a long time and would like to catch up. Even though she can't respond to me." Five chuckled softly.
"Oh yeah sure no problem." Vanya said and smiled at Five. She knew Five was closer with (y/n) than he was with her so she understood he wanted to spend as much time as possible, even if she's not responsive.
Vanya stood up from the bed and left (y/n)'s room.
Five rolled his eyes and looked back at (y/n). If only she was awake she would've believed him. She would've even helped him solve this mystery, helping him save everyone. Heck even if he found (y/n)'s body earlier during the apocalypse she would've given him a name to who's responsible but he was just a little bit too late.
"Maybe a kiss from her prince charming will wake up the sleeping beauty." All of a sudden Five heard a voice coming from the doorway. He snapped his head towards the sound scoffed slightly when he saw Klaus standing there. "At least that's what happened in one of the fairytales." Klaus shrugged his shoulders.
"Yeah well this isn't a fairytale." Five rolled his eyes at his brother.
"You could almost say we're living one." Klaus carried on. "You know since we all got powers." He walked up to (y/n)'s desk and looked through her sketchbooks.
Five considered Klaus' thoughts but quickly dismissed it. A kiss from him won't wake her up as she was awake already when he found her during the apocalypse. It was something else.
A sudden thought entered his mind.
"Klaus?" Five called out making his brother stop messing up (y/n)'s organised table.
"How would you like to earn some cash?"
"Keep going."
Five smirked and got up from his seat.
"We gonna raid the old man's closet for a nice suit to clean you up a bit and you gonna pretend to be my dad."
"Oh!! Splendid." Klaus clapped his hands happily. "We should have a cover story too!" Five raised his eyebrow at that.
"I had you at like what? 16 years old? Very young and misguided." Klaus started to say tragically raising his arms to his chest. "Ohh your mother! That slut! We met at uhh disco! And oh! The sex was amaaaazing."
"What a disturbing glimpse into the thing you call a brain." Five narrowed his eyes at Klaus before leaving the room.
"Don't make me put you in a time out!" Klaus called out in fake deep voice. He then laughed and looked at (y/n). "I'm so hilarious I know." He then jogged out of the room to catch up to Five.
