the encounter with jack kang and the three stooges didn't really anger harley, more just disappointed him. the associates of donald na were supposed strong and ruthless, but the side kick of jimmy bae seemed to have little self respect. even if he lost, jack would have had the bragging right of getting to fight the king. that was all the reason fighting king was justified, at least that's what harley told himself.

yoonsun losing at that fight triggered a chain reaction, like always.

philip kim pushed jimmy until he had underlings harassing innocent eunjang students on the streets. philip kims mind was so clouded by narcissism that he couldn't see the fate of yoonsun and himself burning into flames. the new found alliance with donald na meant harley had an influence on what happened, especially since he had donald wrapped neatly around his ring finger. when harley says someone is bad for business, donald simply listens, as harley has experience with this, and his advice is normally quite helpful.

when the inevitable fight between the eunjang idiots and the yoonsun dumbasses finally found the time to happen, shit hit the fan. the narcissistic attitude of jimmy was affecting how the battle was going. his confidence hit its limit, there was no more bragging he could do, he just had to pray that eunjang didn't pull a backward trick.

and when jimmy bae could no longer hold his ground, the narcissism tipped over the edge, spilling over and draining until nothing lasted. his confidence had no grounds to stand upon, therefore it collapsed right in front of him. the long reigning fear over his classmates dissipated to nothing.

it had taken him years to get such power, and it took one effortless hour to reverse it all. no more power meant he was basically useless to donald na, and wasn't very surprised when kingsley kwan appeared at the gate of the school with a message from donald himself.
the prideful lion only acknowledging others for their faults.

this was typical, you mess up and a message comes from donald. he's never there himself, as he's too busy, and he only ever interacts with you when your a liability to him. that's just how it goes, you don't see him until the meetings, but no one is allowed to speak unless given permission. why did jimmy ever decide joining the union was a good idea? he was a naive freshman greedily hunting for power. [donald gives off 'speak when spoken to' vibes]

if you asked him, it would be the worst decision he's ever made, but there's nothing he can do. backing out from the union isn't possible. last time someone tried to defy donald they were excommunicated, their reputation ripped to shreds right in front of their eyes. myles joo hadn't caused any drama since he was cut from the union, or at least no famous drama. jimmy doesn't want that to happen.

[sorry if calling him harley and king gets confusing. i don't really pay attention when writing, and i call him king in my head.]
