teddy jin meets wolf keum in a cafe and they talk about their cats.
teddy jin planned for a simple day at his favorite cafe. he had recently picked up a book on cat behaviors, and wanted to read into it to understand coco more.
the blond had been there for a little over an hour, and reached chapter 3, which was on reactions to other cats. teddy wanted to get another cat, and he needed to know if Co would fare well with another cat.
the book didn't say much, considering the cats reaction is based on its own behavior. one thing he did pick up on is that stray cats tend to adapt to feline companions better because they hunt together during hard times in the wild. right when he stopped on that paragraph, teddy heard the chair across from his slide back, and someone sit in it. the stranger in front of him is the same male he kept getting occasional glances from since he arrived. the purple haired teenager didn't say a word, and just pointed at the book teddy jin held.
the blond had pretty eyes, which shined with confusion and focus. it appeared as if he was trying to force up a memory that had been hidden. when the blue eyed male couldn't reach a solid conclusion, he dropped it and sighed.
the alarmingly pretty stranger across from teddy stuck out his hand, introducing himself as Wolf keum, and made a comment on teddy's book choice. wolf tried to strike up a conversation on cats, but failed when he noticed the blond zone out while staring him down. in any other circumstances wolf would have beat teddy up, but he was the one that started the conversation, and he knew who teddy was friends with.
teddy, on the other hand, realized who this male was. this was wolf keum, the delinquent philip kim and eugene gale liked to go on and on about quite a lot. the only thing those two had in common was their joy for boasting their knowledge on delinquents and wannabe gang members. wolf was always someone they mentioned, and for obvious reasons, so teddy jin didn't expect the boy to strike a conversation on cats.
the blond snapped back out of his brief heart attack and slowly started to talk about coco. the conversation was short and sweet, ending with them exchanging numbers and saying brief goodbyes.

hello pretty boy. how's coco?DumbBlondJuice
she's wonderful. how's may and lillie?BarkBoy
they are okay. may got sick so i had to get her some medicine, but she should be okay now.teddy's eyes widened a bit before answering again.
DumbBlondJuice
why didn't you tell me? i know a clinic that would have given you a discount on medicine.BarkBoy
i know how much you worry. i didn't want you stressing.wolf didn't know what he was doing. worrying about someone else isn't in his dictionary of emotions.
the silver eyed male just stared at his phone for a second before teddy answered, going on about how he could have helped.
wolf knew he was worried, but he also knew they went to the same vet clinic for their cats. in fact, wolf had been going there longer, and the owners gave him a discount for always taking his cats in for consistent checkups.
wolf had to assure his friend that everything was okay, and that the price was fine, but nothing seemed to rest teddy's worries.
in the end, wolf ended up inviting the blond over, just to assure him that may was perfectly fine with her medicine.

in all honesty, teddy didn't expect a very nice and well kept apartment from wolf, but was proved wrong when he walked into a well furnished apartment clean of any speck of dirt.wolf was the messy type when fighting, but he seemed to be very clean about his living space.
the two sat on the couch. both were sitting cross cross applesauce, teddy with may in his lap. the blond was observing his friend like a hawk. he noticed wolf tap his left knee three times, then having to do it on the other knee. that explained why the apartment was so clean. wolf seemed to have ocd, and everything had to be in the right place or he wouldn't be able to find it. not only that, but wolf seemed nervous.
teddy finally spoke, trying to calm the other a bit. wolf snapped out of the focus he had on an object behind teddy and actually looked teddy in the eye. it was the first time they held eye contact without one of them looking away. wolf couldn't help it. teddy invoked a protective emotion he couldn't control, and that made him nervous. wolf's entire life was about control, and the idiotic blond before him threw all of that off.
it's amazing what a simple conversation about cats can do.
