souleater au!
the plan was simple, push the target closer to king's and set off the signal.
it was going perfectly fine if you agree that black star giving away his position in under five minutes is normal. to the team, it was.
king's weapons were asleep in weapon form. it was around three in the morning, the mission had to be done by sunrise, so they have about three hours. that's about two and a half hours of king watching his team get themselves into shit. he could help, but where's the fun in that.
king was an onlooker to the chaos unfolding in front of him, but he was farther away so the noise wouldn't awake any of the weapons that laid claim to him.
he had two holstered pistols on each hip. on white, with gold vines and black roses, the other black with silvers vines and white roses.
he held a scythe loosely, letting it dangle along the face of the building. black chains dropped from around the top, the wheel of zodiacs carved into the staff.
on his right thigh was another holster. this one contained a small revolver and a throwing knife. the revolver was silver, instead of grip panel it was wooden, and had a howling wolf carved into it.
the throwing knife was simple. the handle was wrapped in a black material, and little triangles were cut from the spine of the blade.
lastly, was dean. he woke up not too long ago. he's a longbow, almost elven looking. a white shimmery material, which stuck out among the darkly themed others. sadly, king couldn't admire his favorite weapon because human dean had been leaning on his shoulder.
they waited for about thirty minutes before king decided to put his friends out of their misery. it was becoming pitiful watching his friends run around like chickens with their heads cut off.
king hopped of the building, platform boots landing on the asfalt with a light tap. he stood straight and held the scythe with his right hand.
blackstar eventually managed to get the target of tonight running towards king's positions. the best thing he's seen tonight having to be the black haired male standing on the street with his intimidating weapon. king was the first of their grade to get a death scythe. the blonde was the first weapon to bond with king, meaning they've been together the longest.
when king first started working with donald they hated eachother (more like king hated donald). donald was flirty and worked terribly in teams. fortunately, they grew close, close enough to date. after donald formed a line of weapons who had heard about how well he worked with such a difficult personality. most were turned down, but the persistent ones caught his attention. not in a good way, but to them it was like being acknowledged by a famous celebrity.
blackstar didn't have a problem with any of them, mostly because he wasn't allowed to. if he said one thing out of line about the idio- ahem, the wonderful males he would most likely get his ass beat. and the embarrassment of getting beat up by the most popular weapons in the school would have been detrimental to his 'reputation'.
but right now he was glad to see menacing death scythe. anything that could get him out of this situation would have been wonderful.
king was smart enough to lay back and not cause any ruckus or damage. after tonight there's a big chance blackstar and the others would get in trouble.
he could guarantee they destroyed public, and private, property trying to kill this damn thing. king was always smart. he never causes trouble to avoid any trouble, and death seemed to favor him because of that. it was annoying, but his friend group respected strategic he was.
in reality, king just avoids fighting until he absolutely has to. the others jump in without a plan and that annoys him, so he sticks back until he sees and opening. but he also enjoys watching the others frantically run around because they failed to make it without a plan.
that's what he did tonight. he kept his position on the what he assumed was an apartment building. it was only two stories so it was easy to jump off, he always ignored dean when he lectured him on hurting his knees. king is fighting smart but not always common sense smart.
when the target got close enough king swung the scythe forward with ease. the blade decapitated the thing, the body evaporating into a mist.
blackstar deadpanned. this was mildly annoying. their team had been trying to kill that thing for over an hour, just for king to jump down and decapitate it in under a minute. but king deserves that much. he mastered multiple weapons and most definitely had to sacrifice his sleep, and sometimes his mental health, to control weapons others claimed to be impossible to wield.
the others give king too much credit. yes, he sacrificed his sleep and mental health. but, these people have helped him more than he did them. meisters turned them down because they couldn't match their overconfident wavelength (well,, dean was the one that recommended king to jake) and king had a wavelength that showed his low confidence very much. they balanced each other out for the most part.
that's why they make such a great team. the others that death assigned king to watch over considered him a friend and a teammate, but king sees himself as more of that one babysitter that doesn't actually do there job until a kid goes missing. he never really minded their presence, whether need be or not. they are composed kids for the most part, blackstar causes the most problems. he's too reckless, but he reminds king of wolf in certain ways. he would never just abandoned these kids because they remind him of the people he loves.
