why did king agree to this date?

donald was hot, and he had money, but that's definitely not a contributing factor.

he had set up the date and time, choosing his favorite cafe conveniently located across the street from his job. this is why he was a a bit early, and finally had the chance to read the book the chairman gifted him.

the title read '101 Grimm Tales'. the chairman knew that his bodyguard wanted to read it, so he bought it as a birthday present.

king seemed to be enjoying it so far, enjoying it enough to completely ignore the person that sat themself in front of him. he only veered his focus away when a finger softly pressed the tip of his nose. a tattooed hand was outstretched in front of him, the knuckles reading '𝖑𝖎𝖋𝖊'. king folded the corner of the page he was on, and gently sat the book and mug down. donald started a soft conversation, trying to respect the college students studying behind them. he generally wasn't one to respect others, but that's on the job. he understands the struggle of having to study for good grades, especially if you're a college student. [i'm just going to assume that donald is like,, a second year in high school.]

king had his mask pulled all the way off this time, so his chin was visible, and the faint outline of a scar could be made out from where the mask had rubbed of some foundation. [y'all i don't wear makeup so don't @ me.]

"why do you always cover your freckles, they're so cute." donald's finger moves from king's nose to his freckles.

"i don't like them." king answered with a 'duh' tone.

donald continued to trace constellations across king's cheeks, eventually going down to his chin to trace the small scar. he didn't know where, or who, it was from, but the audacity said person had to have. when donald finally dropped his hand, king reached down to fidget with the intricately designed rings adorning donald's right hand. this was a nervous habit king had developed back at jae won high. his friend jay yeol always let him play with his rings when nervous. it always helped being close to someone he felt safe with, and having something to keep his mind occupied with.

the blonde realized the smaller male was nervous, so he didn't even try to pull his hand away.

the date had went well, king had to leave not too long after donald had arrived, so they talked as much as time allowed. when the time came for him to go back to work, donald walked him across the street, and let him be.

[the first week of school is over. honors classes aren't as hard as i thought, but eighth graders are bastards.]
