JANE'S P.O.V
It was a normal Monday at school. In spite spending twenty minutes gathering the cute monsters and leading them to the classroom, the day was perfect. These kids were happy with singing session that we had just right after the boring-yet-important math class.
"I'll see you tomorrow, little ones. Safe trip back home." I hugged each of them in front of the class as the kids waved away.
"Miss Jane..."
Callista suddenly called after I hugged the last two kids. I did not realize the twins were still in the room.
"Yes, darling?"
"Cassandra is feeling sick..."
She pointed to the twin number one who was curling herself and bowed hiding her face under the table.
I quickly approached Cassandra. "Hi baby, what happened? Are you hurt?"
"No..." She shook her head.
I studied her position. There must be something wrong with her face. So I slowly grabbed her chin and lifted it. I was shook while I saw blood dripping from her nose. I tried not to panic because Calista was looking worried already.
"Let's get you some rest in the health room, shall we?" I lifted Cassandra. "Calista, can you walk with me?"
"I can bring Cassandra's bag too." She nodded at herself and was being a very helpful little girl.
"Good job, sweetheart." I smiled proudly.
"Daddy is going to pick us." Calista told me as we walked to the health room.
"That's very good." I winked at her and greeted our doctor. "Hello Miss Kim."
"I'm scared..." Cassandra whined in tiny voice from inside my arms.
"No baby, nothing bad would happen. Miss Kim is just going to play with doctor's tools like we did in the class. I'm here with you, okay?" I stroked her hair.
Cassandra nodded weakly. For someone whose energy was normally so fully charged, she looked totally different. My heart was broken seeing her condition. The bleeding was pretty bad. There was blood stain all over her shirt. But I was so proud of the twins. Cassandra remained obedient at anything Miss Kim told her to do. During the examination, I also held Calista in my arms and it was amazing to see how calm she was in spite seeing that much amount of blood in her twin.
"Something to do with overheat, I believe." Kim spoke in whisper because Cassandra was falling asleep.
"Ah," I nodded. "I think I know it."
"Hmm?"
"They just had a day at the beach all afternoon two days ago."
"It was so hot throughout the weekend, really. I was almost dead in my own room." Kim rolled her eyes. "Is the Daddy here already? I'd like to talk to him."
"I can check. Do you need to prescribe anything?"
"There's no need at this point. But I can suggest him to let Cassandra rest for a few days."
"I'll be right back." I nodded. "Hey baby, would you like to go with me to the waiting room, to see if Daddy's arrived?"
"Uh-hmm," Calista replied. "Is Cassandra asleep?"
"Yes, she is." I smiled softly. "Let's go."
I held hands with Calista and walked to the front area. There was Riley looking worried because the school was empty and he has been waiting for a while. He probably did not copy my number from Toby, so he had no idea how to reach me.
