Chapter 5: Battle For Dominance

"Let's do this"...

John was left alone in the club room to prepare himself. He needed to calm down so he decided to listen to Seraphina's favorite song.

After he had finished his song he got up and made his way over to the door. He pulled the handle hesitantly but all he could think about was promising not to let anyone down. He had enough motivation to push through as he made his way to the courtyard with his mask on.

Meanwhile Sera was hanging out with Evie all day. Evie said John was at the Gym working out so Sera decided to leave him be.

Evie looked at her phone and saw it was time. They started to walk over to the bridge. The bridge was basically a corridor that separated two buildings and it had glass on the side so you could see the courtyard perfectly.

Evie pointed out the royals. "Isn't that Remi speaking with the Joker?!?" Evie pretended to be shock.

She was a pretty good actor in all honesty. Sera saw Remi speaking with the Joker with her own eyes. "So they really are working with him then, is Joker good or are the royals evil?" Sera questioned.

It had to be one or the other and no other way. "Remi would never do anything bad so Joker must be a good guy who just comes off as terrifying". I look around for John who might've been here by now.

Not realizing that half the school had gathered. I saw Joker face the crowd of people so he must be getting ready to do whatever their planning. I saw Arlo and Remi activate their abilities. What are they doing!? "They do realize they are giving him a weapon" I stated the obvious but I was just shocked.

Joker placed his hand on his mask and began removing it. Everyone began freaking out at this.

Everyone was curious at the mystery man. I nudged Evie "bet you ten bucks he's hot" I giggled. She just smiled and said okay. What was so funny?

My attention shifted back to the boy who had almost removed his mask. Black messy hair? No way... it couldn't be. I pressed even closer against the glass to see if my eyes were deceiving me. My bestfriend stood there with a stern look.

The entire school went silent. "John's the king?", "no way hes a cripple" people were in disbelief but I knew it was true.

Remi would be laughing if this was a joke but instead she stood beside John looking serious as well. I saw John raise his hand and fire a lightning bolt directly up. He was proving it to the school. He placed arlo's barrier around them and then they dissapeared.

Some disguise ability probably. I couldn't believe my eyes. John was the strongest person in school, and by a landslide. I couldn't think straight so I just ran back to my dorm leaving Evie in the dust. "Why did he lie to me?" I was upset and I had the right to be.

My bestfriend kept a secret from me that has now changed my life. John and I were in it together. We were both cripples and we both didn't care. He helped me believe that I was safe as a cripple and that we had nothing to worry about but in reality he had nothing to worry about. Why did he hide it for so long and just take all the beatings. It just doesn't make sense

Evie ran over to the royals to inform them on everything. "She ran off crying, I don't think it went well" Evie said scared for John's answer. "It's fine I knew it wouldn't but I had to reveal myself or else the school would crumble" The king stated.

Evie couldn't believe she was standing in front of the king and queen of the school.

Remi spoke up "Evie you and I will go talk to her and see if we can help anything" as she turns to look at John reassuringly. I did exactly as the queen asked and made our way to Seraphina's dorm.
