LEVEL THIRTEEN- Truth?

*SIX HOURS BEFORE DIGITALIZATION*

" Hey Ethan? Have you managed to fix the container?"

The dark haired bespectacled man stood up from his work bench and stretched his arms.

"Almost, Eric. Almost."

His older brother was a wizard at coding. Creating the online MMORPG "Infinitude" was a dream of both brothers, and it was about to become a reality. His ex girlfriend, Heather Ross, would definitely be impressed and  come back to him when he made it big.

A wad of paper hit him on the head. "Stop daydreaming you shoob! We gotta release the game for beta testing tomorrow!" Eric laughed.

"Ill get back to making the NPC design later. Can't have one looking like Keanu Reeves; the players would be too afraid to fight him!" Ethan raved, arms waving wildly.

As the brothers laughed their heads off, Ethan whipped out his phone and dialed Heather's number. The phone rang a couple of times,then went to voicemail. Sighing in annoyance, he composed a short text and sent it to her, hoping she'd come after seeing it.

The door to the garage burst open noisily, the tan brunette skipping in.

"Hello Eric, hey Ethan! I was in the neighborhood when I saw your text, so I decided to swing by. What's up?"

Ethan flushed, clearing his throat. " I'll be right back, Heather, I just need to go get the immersion helmet."

Eric chuckled. "Lord knows what you did to him, Heather. Lemme get you a soda."

"Thank you, Eric. It is very much appreciated," she smiled prettily.

As Eric walked out of the garage, Heather pulled out her phone and quickly opened the text she got before Ethan's text entered. She walked to the system quickly, and typed in the virus code, uploading it to the root code as soon as she was done.

A slim flash drive appeared in her hand, and she uploaded the "Appleseed" virus to the optics and cerebral centre.

Quickly going back to how she was before Eric left the room, Heather cleared up any signs that she had moved at all form that spot.

Both men came back with the items they went to get, Ethan putting on the helmet and tapping a few buttons on his wrist watch while Eric booted the system.

"Ok Heather," Ethan said smiling proudly, " prepare to be amazed!"

The next ten seconds were a rush; the explosion of white hot energy, the sudden shockwave destroying the very atoms of existence on earth and reshaping them into pixels, the sudden conversion of humanity and all its knowledge into code...the event that changed mankind forever...

Was caused by an apple.

And a woman.

Coincidence?
