"I can see them!" Bill banged on the window to presumably the boys, who we'd been waiting for since we sent them out for our 'mission supplies'.
"We have to get it out of them, what they saw. I can't let Henry go down for murder." I stated, rubbing my hair dry in my towel.
"We don't wanna overw-w-whelm them." Bill turned to face me, leaning against my window seat.
"But time is still of the essence."
Ben and Bev did return with pizza, Richie and Eddie with the snacks and Stan, Mike, Teddy and Georgie with their movies. They chose The Goonies, Back to the Future and Gremlins.
"Guys, isn't Gremlins meant to be a little scary?" I subtly nodded to Georgie and Teddy, who were back at my desk doodling again and speaking together in quiet whispers.
"No way, I saw it last year. They're pretty cute. The kids'll love it." Richie stated, dropping his bag (probably way too much candy) on the ground. I made a mental note to stay far away from Gremlins because if Richie said they were cute then they had to be one of two things, naked women, or mass murderers. He had a very odd taste for a boy of his age, or a boy of any age for that matter.
We did eventually start watching the movies, after setting up a huge floor bed which was basically a tonne of blankets and pillows from wall to wall. We started with The Goonies, everyone mostly comparing Richie to Mouth, the self-centred, trash talking, annoying one of the group. Teddy and Georgie whispered quietly to eachother.
"What are you guys talking about huh?" I asked, almost startling them out of their own little world.
"Um, nothing." Teddy replied. They were tired that was for sure, but they were still far too quiet and I knew it wasn't down to low energy.
"Aw, come on you g-guys. We're l-l-letting you stay up lat-te with us. You gotta t-tell us."
"Okay," Georgie fumbled with the long sleeves of his tiny pyjamas, pointing at the TV. "We said that he is like Henry."
"Chunk?" Bev asked with a snigger. The scene playing was the one where Chunk was giving Sloth a Baby Ruth chocolate bar whilst both imprisoned in the underground 'dungeon' of sorts.
Everyone furrowed their eyebrows, except Ben. It seemed to click with him faster than it did with us. "Did he feed you guys down there?"
"Yeah, he bought us things everyday." Georgie stated.
"But the clown didn't like it." Teddy shuddered. "He couldn't keep us in the sky all the time." He must've meant the dead lights and how it made them float. "He had to let us down when he wasn't there, so Henry kept us safe, but we never told Pennywise."
I shivered at the name coming out of my brothers mouth. This was all too real. "Henry kept you safe?"
"Yeah, he was so brave." Georgie confirmed. " When the clown found out that he'd given us food, he got mad, really mad." Bill put his hand on his brothers shoulder in an attempt to comfort him, Richie doing the same to Teddy.
"Then what happened?" Richie asked.
"Well, the clown was really mad and he knows that Henry likes you the same way that Bill does." Teddy pointed at me and Georgie laughed at a boy/girl relationship. I was glad that they were still children at heart, not too broken over the incident. "So the clown made Henry go after you."
"Cass? Henry had a crush on Cass." Bev pointed, eyes wide in disbelief. She was more repeating it rather than questioning it. I'm sure we were all surprised.
