It was a Sunday morning, warm sunshine illuminating the hills across the sheets and blinding the unopened eyes of the victims of sleep. Light snores, barely audible, breathed through the sleeper on the left side of the bed's lips. The wind from this just hardly blew against your hair, sprawled across the pillow.
Your arms were tucked across your stomach, fingers looped loosely through Calum's hand, which was thrown over your hip. Calum squeezed gently as he breathed out, coming out of his deep sleep. He didn't open his eyes as we wasn't even all the way awake. He breathed sharply in, and that was what woke him up. He released your hand and rolled onto his side. He carefully opened his eyes, now facing away from the window.
His lips quirked up and his heart swooned. Your lips were pursed, parted lightly. A tiny crust of drool was on your chin and he gently wiped it away. You shifted, furrowed your eyebrows, but stayed where you were. Calum reached for one of your hands and intertwined your fingers into his own.
"Hm?" You murmured, nostrils sucking in as you breathed deeply. Your eyes snapped open as Calums thumb brushed over your knuckles. "You're so creepy."
Calum chuckled, a hoarse, deep sound. "I can't help myself. You're so pretty."
"Come here, weirdo," you tugged on his hand.
He moved through the empty bed space between you and wrapped you up in his arms. "Good morning," Calum kissed your forehead.
"Morning," you smiled. "No alarm today?"
"No reason for it."
"What time is it?" You craned your neck to see if your phone would light up, but Calum nudged himself back into your view. You giggled, "What?"
"No reason for it," Calum shook his head. His longer hair tickled your shoulder and you squirmed. "Sorry."
"'S okay. I like it," you tugged on a curl.
"It's getting long. Might cut it," he crossed his eyes in an attempt to see the hair hanging down over his forehead.
"No, I don't like that idea. Thanks for the input, though," you laughed at your sarcasm, but Calum just rolled his eyes.
"Of course you like it," he sighed. "Gives you something to hold-"
"Don't finish that sentence," you blushed deeply, shoving your head into his neck to hide from his eyes.
He nuzzled his cheek against your forehead. "Aw, I'm sorry, baby. Didn't mean to embarrass you."
"Mhm," you closed your eyes, already drifting back to sleep.
"You going out again?"
"Mhm."
Calum heard your breathing even and peered down to see your eyes closed. He settled the two of you down against the pillows better before kissing you firmly on the cheek.
"Sleep well, my love."
