On Monday, they ended up holding hands most of the time they were together. They didn't talk as much, though they certainly talked quite a bit, mostly just enjoying their time together.
"Wanna work on homework at my place?" Phil asks, and Dan nods.
"Sure, algebra homeworks a b*tch."
"Haha, yeah."
"Whoo, finally! That took like an hour!"
"Homework is the worst!"
Phil agrees, then laughs.
"Hey, at least we can hang out now."
"Yeah. Wanna watch a movie?"
"Yeah!"
They sat curled up in a blanket together, eating popcorn and watching the movie.
"Hey Phil?"
"Yeah?"
"It's kind of stupid, cause I've known you for like a week, but I really like you."
"I really like you too."
Phil takes Dan's hand, lacing their fingers together.
That was it; there was no extravagant event, no fancy formalities. Just a mutual understanding. A silent agreement that they were together, and that they'd stay together.
"Schools finally out!" Everyone cheered.
"We made it through the year, Dan!" Phil cheers as Dan spins him around happily.
"Whoo!"
"That should be the last box!"
"I can't believe we're actually moving in together!"
"These have been the happiest few months of my life, honestly." Phil hugs him tightly, making him smile.
"And to think, it's all because you said 'you too' instead of 'thank you'!"
"Ugh, don't remind me... I love you, Phil."
"I love you too, Dan."
