A laser tag battle but involving counterfeit blades and arrows had really pushed them to their limit of combat skills.

If targeted points were hit, alarms would ring depending upon the severity of the recorded injuries. A fatality would mean the automatic unlocking of their gear, leaving them defenceless and out of the game.

On the other hand, those projected graphics would just disperse since they were easier to defeat.

They certainly were amateurs at fighting but at least they tried to appear cool and experienced. Treating bows as slingshots and treating swords as fly swatters seemed acceptable.

A hundred of them were finally conquered but their new assigned opponents who were supposedly on their side made it more challenging.

Did their guide put them up to that?

But where was he?

“Why are you all attacking us?”

Most of them were totally annihilated by Sherwinn, and Clyde was still yet to unleash his inner warrior. Krissa and Ellaine had been definitely unyielding.

The others became simple spectators, looking out for the dragon’s dormant behaviour.

“Since you both got lost, we have been given these roles. He said that this is the only way to end this once and for all. Idk where he went though.”

Krissa wielded her weapon as if she was a well-known general of colonizing troops. Clyde’s full sweeps and strikes were in vain as she dominated his attacks with wise strategies.

Closed stances should be observed, effectively blocking exposure of vulnerable body areas from her opponent. She was a very serious player.

Clyde did not want Sherwinn to take his spotlight when she was already dueling against Ellaine at that. She was more in the offense shooting arrows which kept Sherwinn busy just running around trying to tire her out.

“Why can’t you both just give up? So that we could all go now. Is there a need to be so competitive?”

Her energy was starting to drain but she got nothing to lose.

“Nah…it should be over until it’s over. You’re going down.”

As Ellaine was about to pull out her last one, Sherwinn charged towards her head on not minding the outcome.

“This is goodbye…for the both of us…”

It was time.

She struck her from the side and she intentionally let that sharp tip make contact with the area of her heart then dramatically fell toppling over Ellaine. Add some emotional background music, it would seem like a splendid sacrifice.

“Cyde, it’s all up to you now. I did it because of you. Don’t make it seem like a waste.”

“Ngeh…”

His humorous response reverberated with the others, including Krissa who got distracted by what she said.

This was his chance. He stridden towards her front, took control of his strength, and successfully hit the spot.

“Sherwinn…don’t tell me…you-.”

“What? What’s so wrong about what I just said?”

“You’re blushing, don’t you know that?”

“You just died…didn’t you realize that?”

Krissa just returned to her senses and saw Clyde before her rejoicing in victory.
