Chapter 7 (Mind Works)

“Seriously.”

Yoona kept on convincing Jasie to believe her.

“Seriously?”

Jasie was just being redundant now.

“Okay...but how would I? How come I don’t know this myself?”

Yoona wanted to just show her the memory from her mind so that she would just see it for herself of what she had witnessed.

“I don’t know. You tell me. I clearly remember being controlled as if I was possessed at that birthday celebration.”

Jasie was exasperated to hear these secrets one by one and not just altogether, she was getting tired of being surprised.

“Oh…from that picture you showed me? But how? I don’t know, Yoona. What exactly did I made you do?”

Yoona told her about how she was before she met her.

She was rebellious due to her incredible memory.

She had the urge to hurt people, especially her parents for letting someone like her be born into this world.

She could not take the pressure of remembering just too much.

There was a time when her father came home drunk from work and slapped her hard across the face. There was also that one time when her mother shouted directly at her that she was a worthless child, just crying all the time. She even said that she wanted her gone and out of her sight.

Her parents only cared about their business during those days and Yoona was just a hindrance to their career.

They mistreated her for doing nothing at all and she felt so unfair.

Her nanny always took care of her and she was the one Yoona considered as her real mom who at least was treated much better by her parents.

Yoona was mature for her age and decided to harass her parents in public while celebrating her 4th birthday.

She stole a cutter while her parents were at work. She knew where everything was placed and hidden even a stash of money carefully secured in her father’s safe along with its password.

They absolutely did not know that she had this skill. How fun it was to use her ability like this.

They never gave her attention until after that time Jasie intervened with her at that restaurant. The picture was taken right after she changed, right after her parents changed. 

“You’re telling me that I took control of your mind? Is that humanly possible?”

Jasie still cannot be persuaded.

“It’s up to you if you’ll believe me but remember our promise to trust each other? You’re starting to break it.”

She did not want to doubt Yoona but she just could not gather enough logic to explain what she had just said.

“Okay then, I’ll think about it. Elaborate to me what you witnessed.”

Yoona told her that she became too aware of her because she seemed off.

Jasie was sulking while her family was trying to make her laugh. She began to groan maybe because of annoyance. There was something wrong with her aura and it did not feel right at all.

Yoona considered it her cue to shock her parents, however; her mind became blank as she heard a tiny voice.

It told her that it was a grave sin to turn against one’s parents.
