A mechanical gasp of air filled my ears as I walked into the lab to find everyone was arguing with one another. Stark was picking a fight with Rogers, Thor was ridiculing everyone about being tiny, Bruce was trying to contain himself as Romanoff watched him cautiously, and Fury was insulting Thor about being an alien. I sighed crossing my arms. I shook my head. "Alright that's it." I stated getting annoyed. I pulled out a knife and chucked across the room. It cut the stagnant air between Stark and Rogers. It slammed into the wall perfectly straight. Everyone turned to look at me, wide-eyed. "This is your so-called team I've been hearing about?" I asked Fury unimpressed. "I really hope you got something better than this because right now...I see more arguing than actual research. So why doesn't everyone take out the sticks that up your asses and do something productive with your time, like, oh, I don't know...find out what Loki wants with Tesseract?" I ranted. "You best watch your tone, Reeds. I won't hesitate to drop kick you off my ship." Fury threatened. I clenched my jaws before getting in his face. "You try it and I'll rip out your other eye." I snarled. "You touch me...you'll never see the light of day again." He countered with a glare. "And who's gonna stop me? You?" I growled. "I have a few people in mind." He answered. "Who? Them? The same people who can't even be in the same room with each other for 5 minutes before all Hell breaks loose? Those people?" I snapped. "Reeds." Romanoff called out. I broke the stare down with Fury before looking back at her. "What did you learn?" She asked. "Short version? Psycho Reindeer plans to unleash a certain someone to get what he wants. Also...Green Arrow is as he stated and I quote; "A place I know not where."" I answered walking to Rogers and Stark before yanking the embedded knife out of the wall. I flipped the blade around my hand as I paced the length of the room. "I have to say, Rapunzel. You're brother...is insane." I told Thor tapping the handle of the knife on his metal chestplate. "You done?" Fury asked. "No. But if something happens when do I get paid?" I asked. "You get paid when I say you get paid. And as of right now...you don't get paid until we stop whatever Loki has planned. You hear me?" He answered. "I hear you...I just don't care. You see I could care less whether or not the world gets invaded. I just wanna get paid. The longer I'm here...the longer I have to deal with you." I stated before I went to leave.
Arguments started up again before I went out into the hall. A couple of seconds later, my senses picked up on the whine of an engine that was higher in pitch than the normal engines of the helicarrier. I lingered in the hall before heading back into the room. "Something's wrong." I announced. "Yeah. We know. You're an asshole." Stark voiced. "I meant someone's here that isn't supposed to be, Jackass." I countered before shoving him back. "Fury. You want me to trust you? Then..." I started before snapping my attention out of the window. "Too late." I said a couple of seconds before an explosion rumbled the ship. I looked at Natasha before jumping to her. I grabbed her as the two of us and Bruce were knocked out of the room and dropped through multiple floors. I took the blunt of the fall as Natasha fell on top of me. She looked down at me before I looked passed her. I shoved her off me before steel beams fell on top of me. "Connor!" Nat shouted. I looked over at her to find one of the beams had gotten her leg, trapping her. The sound of grunting and pained growling caught my attention. I looked up to see Bruce on the floor on his hands and knees. He was the one groaning. I looked over at Natasha. "Nat, you good?" I asked. "I'm good. We're okay. We're okay, right?" Nat answered looking over at Bruce. "Doctor?" I asked looking at Banner as he groaned loudly. "Bruce?" Nat called. "You got it fight it. This is just what Loki wants. We're going to be okay. Listen to me." Nat told him. "Are you hurt?" I looked over at two mechanics running to us. I waved them away before looking back at Bruce. "We're going to be okay. All right? I swear on my life, I will get you out of this. You will walk away and never ever..." Nat explained. "Your life?" Bruce yelled in a monstrous voice. I struggled to get out from under the beams before pushing them off me. I scrambled over to Natasha as Bruce started to change into the Hulk. I grabbed a beam and tossed it off her before grabbing her hand. A half-morphed Bruce looked over at us. "Bruce." Natasha said. "Let's go. Nat! We gotta go!" I said pulling her away from the now fully-morphed Hulk. Natasha was limping as she ran from the monster. "Wh-Why? Why are you limping?" I asked her. "My ankle." She answered. I sighed. "Don't ever tell me I never did anything for you." I said sweeping her off her feet and running away from Hulk. Hulk let out a roar before the sound of destruction erupted behind us. "Connor?" Natasha asked. "What, Red-head? Kinda busy here." I stated. "Run faster. Much much faster." She said looking behind me. She looked at me before I ran faster.
