I entered my condo and set the sniper down on a table. I took my gear off and set the various knives on the counter. I hesitated a moment with two of the knives. I spun around and threw the knife at the intruder. The knife became imbedded into the wall next to head of red hair. "That was a warning, Romanoff. Next one goes into your head." I said looking at the woman. "I see you haven't lost your touch." She said looking at the knife next to her. "Who says I did?" I asked setting the other knife down not reading her as a threat. "Why are you here?" I asked taking my mask off. "We need your help." She answered. "Help? I don't do help for secret government organizations. The last one didn't work out too well for me. Or them." I said. "The world is at stake and Fury is willing to pay you." She told me. "Fury? Really? That's new." I said taking a seat across from her. "He's desperate." She stated. "Bullshit." I spat. "Fury didn't send his best operative to come and tell me that he needs my help and willing to pay me money. What do you take me for? A fool?" I asked twirling a knife around my fingers. "He needs you to track down one of our agents." She said. "Ah. You need me to go and search and subdue another one of SHIELD's top agents, right? Hmm. Who is important enough that Fury would send you? Let me guess. Agent Barton, am I right?" I asked. "He's been brainwashed." She explained. "Not my problem." I countered. "You of all people should know what it's like to be brainwashed, Connor." She said. I clenched my jaws for a split second. I looked at her and sighed. "How much?" I asked. "How much do you want?" She asked with a smirk. A smile made it onto my face. "What if I say no?" I asked. "We'll have no choice but to bring you in." She said. "Oh really? Is that what you think?" I said drawing a Desert Eagle and aiming it between her eyes. "You and I both know you won't." She said walking forward and pressing her head against the barrel of the gun. I squinted my eyes. I dropped my head as I lowered the gun. "When do I start?" I asked.
I sat on the Quinjet across from Romanoff. "Who brainwashed him?" I asked her. "An Asgardian named Loki." She answered giving me a file. "Asgardian? Same one from Puente Antiguo?" I asked. "No. His brother." She stated. "Why would an Asgardian abduct a SHIELD agent?" I asked going through the file. "Not sure. To get information. He stole something called the Tesseract." She explained. "What am I supposed to do against an Asgardian?" I asked glancing up at her. "Nothing. We only need you to find out where he's keeping Barton." She said as we arrived at our destination. Romanoff got off the jet and I followed. I followed her through the halls of the helicarrier with my mask on. I was given strange looks as I passed people. "I can't believe we're teaming up with a killer psychopath." A voice whispered. "I know. Who thought it was a good idea to bring that criminal scum on board?" Another asked. I immediately turned around and walked over to them. Their eyes widened in fear as they looked away. I grabbed both agents by the back of their necks and slammed their heads into the desks they were sitting at. I put one of the agents into an arm lock shoving his head against his keyboard while I unsheathed a knife and pressed the blade into the small of the others back. "You two may think that I can't hear you. But I can." I growled. "Connor. Let them go, step away, and put the knife down. Now." I heard Romanoff order. I looked over at her to see her aiming a Glock 26 at my head. I looked around at the room full of agents also aiming their guns at me. "The next time I hear someone so much as breathe an insult. I'll find new ways to break every bone in your body." I snarled. "Now for you two. I suggest you keep a tight lid on those obnoxious mouths of yours before they get you killed, understand?" I spat looking at the two struggling agents. They vigorously nodded their heads. I pulled the blade away from the agent's back before I raised it into the air and slammed it into the desk next to his face. I let them go and walked to Romanoff. "Where's Loki?" I asked her. "I don't know if I should tell you that now. You might kill him." She said. "No. That's not true. The both of us know that Asgardians are too difficult for me to kill." I said walking away. "Lower your weapons. And get back to work." Romanoff said behind me as I waited in the hall for her. I stared into a nearby camera and waved my fingers.
