Why so little comments?

Is it because my writing is so trashy you don't know what to comment on it, or is my story just not comment-worthy? I'm genuinely curious.

Anyway, this is just a short drabble with Sunshine boi :)

"Toldcha that my Mom would love ya!" Valt's smile was big and bright as he pulled his car door shut.

"Yeah, rub it in my face, you idiot." But you couldn't supress a grin when you faced away from him, looking out of the window and into the dark night.

"Just wanted to make sure you know that I was right, babe", he chuckled. The bluenette put his seat belt on and started the car to drive you back home. Of course he need to hear it, didn't he?

"Listen, I'm only gonna say this once, so pay attention", you said, your eyes going back to your boyfriend who connected his phone with the radio to put a playlist on. His gaze fell on you. "You, Valt Aoi , were right." Leaning forward, you placed a quick peck on his lips and then added under your breath, "For once."

"Oi, I heard that!"

You laughed at his dramatic pout. He pressed something on the display of his phone and music came through the speakers. Satisfied with it, Valt drove out of the entryway of his parents' home and onto the empty street. "There was no way she wouldn't like you after I fell for you."

He had been right though. You had been together for a few months now and even though you were in love with him, you had always declined his invitation for dinner with his parents. Not because you had been embarrassed of him or anything, but you had been too anxious. You wanted to make everything in this relationship right and the sheer opportunity of his parents not liking you had freaked you out. Needless to say that all of your worries were unnecessary. His mother was just like him – bubbly, open and a pure ray of sunshine. She had welcomed you with open arms, excited that her son finally brought a girl home and that she had heard so much of you already. His father was a bit more reserved, but he still had told his fair amount of humiliating childhood stories. The twins were happy and supporting of your relationship. Soon, you five had laughed about some anecdote they had recounted while your boyfriend was beet red and seemingly uncomfortable. The food had been great too and it was a pleasant evening all in all. After another hug from his mom you two had left and were on your way to your home now.

Focusing back to Valt, warmth spread through you whole body. His eyes were fixed on the road, one hand on the starring wheel and one on the gear shift. He hummed to the tunes of some pop song that sounded oddly familiar. Your lips tucked upwards again at the sight. You were so lucky with him. Despite his goofy side, he was serious when he needed to be and seem to know what to do to cheer you up. When he stopped at a red traffic light, your heart fluttered. His looks were just the cherry on top and the way the few dull streetlamps outside accentuated his face in the best kind made you well aware of that again. While his hand on the starring wheel tapped to the rhythm of another upbeat song, his other one landed at your thigh as he looked at you and your chest swelled at the sudden affection.

"What's up, honey?"

"I love you."

Silence.

"You – what?"

Your hands clasped in front of your mouth when you realized what you had said. Your heart was running a mile by the thought that you told him these words for the first time now. He hadn't said them so far and it seemed to completely catch him off guard. His eyes were wide and his mouth slightly agape. Valt gulped and took a deep breath, trying to collect himself.

"Could you maybe re-"

A long and loud honk interrupted him and startled you both. Quickly, his hand retreated from your leg and went back to the gear shift. He gave you a side glance as he started to drive again, the traffic light probably long green now. "Hold onto that thought for a second."

Unsure of his reaction, you toyed with the hem of your shirt. Wasn't he happy about it? Was it too soon? Sure, the timing was a bit bad with him driving and it was a bit sudden, but you meant it nonetheless.

Valt swiftly drove onto an empty parking lot and stopped. When he unbuckled his belt and turned to face you, you looked at him again.

"You need to take that back", he stated.

"Pardon?" A lump formed in your throat at his words and your voice was shaky.

He threw his hands in the air. "I wanted to say it first! Shu  will think I'm the worst person he knows when I tell him that!"

Your fingers ran through your own hands as you let out a long and slow breath. "God, Valt, stop doing shit like that."

He quirked an eyebrow up. "What do you mean? I didn't do any- oh."

"Yeah, oh", you huffed, "Making a girl worrying after she confessed to you will make Shu definitely think you're the worst."

With a smirk, he leaned forward to unbuckle your belt, just to pull you closer to him. "Well, there is no way in hell I don't reciprocate the feelings of such a gorgeous woman."

His soft lips landed on yours and he gave you a warm and very loving kiss. When you separated, he pressed his forehead against yours and sighed. "I love you too."
