Chapter 24

*A year later and here I am guys! You finally get to hear what Sydney needed to tell Hayes. Also, my twitter user is now  JACKSlNTHEBOX, my Insta is still they_call_me_ivy. *

Sydney's POV

There was really nothing I had to tell him, I just wanted to freak him out, and by the looks of it I think I did. He looked like he was about to hurl. 

I punched him on the shoulder, "I was just going to say I ended up losing our Monopoly game, breathe okay?"

I looked at Nash as he said, "Seriously Hayes, I just cleaned in here, don't barf all over the floor."

"Syd, that's not funny."

Sky giggled next to Hayes as she said, "I thought it was pretty funny."

Elizabeth invited me inside for dinner. They had ordered some pizzas and we all sat down to eat them while watching Frozen, Sky's request. Nash and Sky had a riveting duet to Love Is An Open Door and I laughed through the whole thing. Hayes just sat there looking at me for a long period of time. 

"You can stop now..." I said while laughing, "Please don't be one of those guys."

Nash jumped on the couch between us, "Seriously man, you're pretty creepy, and anyway, I'm pretty sure Sydney would much rather be next to me than you right now," Let It Go came on, "Right Syd?" 

"Oh definitely."

"May I have this dance m'lady?"

"Yes."

Nash bowed then we began to jokingly spin around the room while Skylynn danced with Hayes. Johnnie told us we looked like a bunch of fools not knowing what we were doing. We all finally sat down and continued watching the movie. 

"I'm starting to think that you like my brother more than me," Hayes joked. 

Before I could get a word out Nash claimed, "Oh she does, everyone does."

I laughed and Elizabeth said, "Nash, stop harassing your brother. He's with his girlfriend, he's already nervous enough." I looked at Hayes and chuckled as his face turned red.

"Oh no pretty boy, do I make you nervous?" He gave me a look and told me to shut up. 

Skylynn took me up to her room to play with her, leaving everyone else to watch Frozen downstairs. She had a swing in her room that she had me push her on for a while. After she played on the swing she showed me her Barbie Dreamhouse. 

"Sydney, I want to be just like you one day, except not to have Hayes as my prince because he's my brother."

"Don't say that. You're your own princess and you should always know that. Always be kind and help those who need it, that's what a good princess does. Not every princess lives in a castle, but when I moved here I knew you were a princess when I saw you." She hugged me and I put a tiara on her that was laying on her bed. 

I looked up and saw Nash and Hayes standing in the doorway, Nash looked to Hayes and said, "Man you need to keep her and if you don't you're an idiot."

Skylynn screamed, "SPIES!" and slammed the door shut. She continued to ask me about how long I had been a princess and what it was like. I told her that back home I had a dog and a cat that lived with my grandparents and that I didn't ever tell anyone that I was a princess because I didn't want them to be jealous. She told me that for Halloween in a few weeks she was going to be a princess that was nice to everyone and maybe even share her candy with Will when he got home from college because that's what a princess would do. 

Johnnie came in and told Skylynn that it was her bedtime.

"Daddy, can Sydney put me to bed?"

"Whatever you want sweetheart."

I tucked her in and headed home because I wanted to get some sleep myself. Before I went to bed a read a story that we had assigned to us for English. The story made absolutely no sense because everything given to us to read for class was completely boring and not interesting at all. When I finished I went downstairs and told my parents goodnight. I went into Kacey's room and gave her a hug because she says if I don't give her a hug before bed I don't love her. I then crawled into bed, this was the first time in days that I'd actually been able to go to sleep at a decent hour.
