Amidst jealousy ....

The Date

Hermoine's POV

What is it today with these guys? First Cedric asks for the study date and then Theo. And now Draco et tu? Are they planning on a prank? I just feel that there is more to what they have revealed. I like spending time with all of them just as much as I did with Harry and Ron. But this date with Draco tomorrow makes me tingly inside. Am I sick or what? I guess I shouldn't have stayed outside for so long to catch that third year student who practices his flying broom every night. It was horrific to see someone fly so freely especially when I am terrified of it.

I was truly shocked when Draco asked me out. It was more like good shock because I couldn't dream of him asking me out. Don't say it's my insecurities speaking. It is just that we never got along for him to like me. But it is what it is.

I laid on my bed while wondering was he so nervous to ask me out that he was shocked when I accepted? Is that why he shut the door on my face or was that too part of his prank plan? It's no use to worry now. Let's wait and see. I am really excited for the date tomorrow.

The Next Morning

Draco: good morning Hermoine.

Hermoine: good morning Draco.

And both of them walked to the dining hall together, thinking of their upcoming date. Their peaceful walked lasted for a few moments before the hustle of the dining hall began to transform into the chaotic market rattle.

"I guess we will meet soon", Draco said shyly. While Hermoine nodded and then both entered the dining room one after the other.

After the classes

Hermoine's POV

"AHHHHHHHH", I screamed as loud as I could. Why did I agree to it? I was right it was a prank plan. this is not what I had in my mind when I thought of a date.

So this is what happened after the classes were finished and I found Draco waiting for me near the lake.

"hello Draco . So what are we doing?" I asked.

"we are going flying"

"oh so should we get hagrid to get buckbeak?"

"what ? why?"

" well you said fly. How else are we supposed to fly?" I answered.

"on the brooms" he answered.

"oh no no no no. I can't fly and no I am not going to even try. This has long been accepted." I shrilled.

"Come on Granger. I didn't know you were so good in acting. Don't worry I will be there with you." He said

" I promise I will protect you" and that was all it took for my heart to agree.

And well now I hate it. We rode the broom like a 20s movie actors rode a bicycle together. It was romantic sure but my terror overpowered the romance. It was all screams for me. I held on to Draco stronger than ever. As though he sensed my discomfort, he steadied the speed. It was fine till that but all went haywire after that.

For some reason the wind suddenly grew colder and faster. I tried holding on to Draco but my hand slipped. And before I knew or could contemplate anything I was in the air.

"AHHHHHHHH", I screamed as loud as I could. Why did I agree to it? I was right it was a prank plan. this is not what I had in my mind when I thought of a date.
