Lucas is Sick

Summary: Boat's sick but tries not to show it, David is the first to see it and tries to confront Boat but he denies it. This goes on until Boat suddenly passes out while a training session.

Lucas felt terrible, once he looked at the light from the window he instantly looked away. He coughed for a while until remembering he was going to be late for a Guild Meeting. The male quickly stood up and gently put on some clothes while coughing a few times. He knew that he was going to be sent back home if they figured out he was sick, so it was a good thing Lucas can keep things in very well. 

The boy opened the door to the Guild hall and sat down next to David. The meeting then soon started. 

They were just talking about guild stuff and other things, Lucas didn't pay attention very well since he had a massive headache, and wanted to fall asleep to rest his mind. Once it was over, Lucas felt a hand hold onto his shoulder keeping him back. It was David, he had a concerned look on his face. The water-user was confused while also trying to hold back a cough.

"Are you okay Lucas?" Asked the other while turning him around so they meet face-to-face.

Ritchie and Brandon were far and were about to leave the Guild hall for the training session, until they both saw David and Lucas hang back while everyone else already went outside.

 The twins walked over to where they were standing. Brandon was the first to speak, "What's wrong?"

Lucas fell silent and tried to look away from them while the twins moved their attention towards David, at last Lucas couldn't hold it much longer and started to have multiple coughing fits, David tried to comfort him and help while the twins tried to figure out what was wrong with him.

"S-sorry, I ate something on m-my way here, and I guess I-I choked.." Lucas lied while trying to look convincing, the male coughing between nearly each word, the twins and David didn't believe him but they went along with it anyway.

They all then started walking to where training usually is, the twins and David looking back at Lucas nearly every second, though he just gave them a short smile trying not to seem too suspicious.

During training, Lucas was getting weaker every minute. Every once in a while it was quiet and all you could hear was his coughing, by now everyone in the guild probably knows he is sick, but no one wants to speak up because the male seemed in denial of it. 

After 2 hours of training Lucas looked like a total train wreck, but let's be honest it was quite hard work so everyone was pretty puffed out. They all had a short break, during the short break David had enough with all of Lucas' lies, so he finally tries to confront him.

"Alright, I've had enough!" Everyone looked at him confused or shocked, Lucas just looked at him while David was giving him a death stare while he walked closer to him.

"Just admit that you're sick! Everyone knows you are, stop lying!" David shouted in Lucas' face, Boat didn't say anything but as a response, he gave him a small smile and got off his chair, the twins came in and said that their break is over and it was time for another training session.

 Everyone went outside but David hesitated until he followed along. The twins were explaining what they were meant to do, once they were done they did what they were told to do. David glancing over to Lucas every once in a while.

Soon after an hour Lucas had a terrible headache for overworking himself and because he was sick at the same time, he felt as if he was going to pass out. He glanced at everyone else, he saw that they were all sweating and puffed out but not as tired and sweaty as he was. He couldn't just stop all those awful thoughts that came to his head if he passed out, they would all think he is weak, useless and not worthy enough to do things, he thought about how they would tease him about it and maybe even bully him about, so he kept on going.

Lucas' mind blanked out, couldn't even hear his own thoughts, the closest sounds around him, they were all blocked from his mind. His vision was getting blurry, he felt dizzy and weak, he couldn't stand on his two legs. He fell down on the grass the only thing he could hear was muffled shouting, and the face of David...

Lucas woke up to see a white ceiling. He groaned as he tried to sit up but was instantly pushed back down gently on the bed he was laying on, he adjusted his eyes to the light and looked around the room. He saw the whole guild there staring at him with concern and worry, he could finally sit up without being pushed back down. 

After a few minutes of adjusting to the light, he finally remembered what had happened, he could see it. Them teasing him, calling him weak, useless and unworthy, the thoughts came in as wind flew by his face. He looked away from them with guilt.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Asked Brandon who was sitting on the chair near the bed. Boat hesitated and thought about the words he was going to say.

"I figured, if I told you guys... You would think bad about me." Lucas felt tears trying to come out and the guild members looked at him with shock, Lucas was ready to get teased.

"Why would you think that?" questioned Mario in concern, it worried him that the other would be hesitant to tell his problems to them.

"I'm not sure.. I need to go." Lucas got out of the bed and made a run for the door, running away as fast as he could. David ran after him while the others following behind them both. David finally caught up to Lucas and grabbed his hand turning him around to hug him. Lucas cried into David's chest. They both went back to their house and cuddled together until Lucas got better. They tried not to have too much physical contact and they ended up sleeping on opposite sides of the couch leaving the TV on.
