Shiny Highlights

A/N: This is just a cute one shot about my head canon of Kane having glow-in-the-dark highlights! (*'꒳'*)

Summary: People realize about Kane's hair.

"A school night event?"

Kane nods as Mino reads out what it says on the piece of paper he is holding.

"Apparently, this event can raise your grades or something." Kane says, his face nonchalant as always. Kane gets out of his sitting position and stands in front of Mino, "Are you going?"

Mino stays silent for awhile, "It's tonight, right?"

Kane nods as they both stare at each other. Mino awkwardly places the piece of paper on the table and then looks back at Kane, "I think I'll go. Are you?"

"If you're going, then I'll too, I guess." 

Mino watches Kane go upstairs, most probably to change, while he too goes upstairs.

The sunset shines in the background as the students of the academy gather around at the front of the school.

The gate was decorated in a light blue colour while the hedges around were covered in small bright lanterns. It gave the school an aesthetic cultural look. The front area of the school had tables, banners and many lanterns hanging around. 

Most of the students had dressed up casually, but their outfits and hair were decorated with various amounts of items, bright or dark, it still stood out.

Kane looks around the area, having been separated from Mino since he went over to his other friends, he was gazing at the area with no expression, there wasn't much to read on his face because the lights were too overwhelming. 

Kane soon finds a space in the corner, where it is dark and away from others of the event, and he sits down beside the food truck. It was not a packed food truck, so he was usually unbothered most of the time.

Sleepy...

Kane activates his quirk and rests his head on the truck, his thoughts drifting away as he sleepily lays there beside the truck.

As the darkness overtakes the sky, the lanterns are in full brightness and they light up the sky and the surrounding area. Which also means Kane's blue highlights light up as well.

Kane had discovered his highlights shone not too long ago, he thinks it's just a reflex for his quirk, but then again, his highlights can also be shaped like eyes from a distance, probably another way to scare others. The highlights are more of a warning, but they are also a great help when he is in a dark space and he needs some light. 

Kane wakes up to see many people in front of him, not staring at his face but his hair. He rubs his eyes tiredly to see if he was just dreaming, but the faces of the people did not go.

"I didn't know his hair could do that! That's so cool~!" A familiar voice had said.

"Is it his quirk?" Another familiar voice.

"Bro! That's so cool." Familiar voice again.

"Kane? Are you awake?" Mino?

Kane fully opens his eyes, feeling awkward because of all the staring, he stands up with the help of the food truck.

"What were you all doing?" Kane asks calmly, feeling less awkward, he leans onto the food truck.

"Your highlights!" Sapphire says in awe, "They can glow!"

Kane sees that Sapphire's eyes sparkled just like bright sapphires. 

"Oh. You just realized?" Kane says as he crosses his arms in some sort of amusement in a way.

"Nightmare boy! Why didn't you tell us earlier?" David squeezes his way through to get to Kane and ask his question.

"Is it really necessary to?" Kane asks back.

Kane watches as they stare at his highlights with curiosity, making the main attraction feel embarrassed by the looks.

"Okay, stop looking." Kane says as he puffs his cheeks and then walks away from the scene.

"Your hair glows too?"

"Yeah."

"... That's pretty cool."

"Likewise."

A/N: Hello hello hello everyone~! How have y'all been? Honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing with my l i f e anymore. Will I come back anytime soon? Will I get anymore motivation? Will I die before reaching at least 100 chapters?! Anyways, I think this book will be held on hold for a bit more. I'm just having trouble deciding.
