Isolated Colours of Us

A/N: I've read one too many fics about these guys.

Warnings: Violence, disfiguration in a way.
Summary: Colin needs to stop worrying people. Where Colin can see the threads connecting him and other dragon slayers.

Word Count (Including A/N): 4500

It is no speculation that the dragon slayers were all connected in some shape or form. They were all basically a family of their own despite being from their respective guilds. The five senses all one owns can be connected through a tough psychological bond; a bond so strong that it cannot be broken since there is a high chance of death happening.

A thick thread tied to the finger and wraps around either the neck, leg, face or arm to indicate the way it ties one down. A blessing yet a curse that has one's head spinning around in circles and circles. It wants to keep one isolated and alone, lie on the floor and absorb the coldness of it all. It's why it's so frustrating, since one cannot see the thread, they have no clue but to find out how they are tied down.

Colin stares blankly towards the crowd beneath him. A shaky breath leaves his mouth and every part of his body feels heavy, as if he was carrying weights everywhere he went. Every movement he makes causes him to wince in displeasure towards the feeling, so he decides he should just stay still the whole time.

Ideally, that is. If it weren't for Seek dragging him around everywhere then maybe, just maybe, he could've settled down somewhere comfortably without any issue with his bones nor interacting with unfriendly gazes. Colin whispers to himself, "I'm sorry." Though, he knows fully why he's apologising, his heart feels as though everything just blended together to form a unique amalgamation of a prideful trophy that has long cracked and is starting to crumble into dust particles like dandelions being carried along with the wind.

Colin blinks and notices he is now standing in a circle full of dragon slayers. His eyes widen and he takes a step back before placing his foot back into the more-like oval shape. He looks up and his heart starts racing. A cold hand lands on his shoulder and he flinches out of shock but also fear.

"Woah, Colin, are you okay?" Allumos asks, he puts his hand back to his side and Colin almost relaxes but now he's noticed that everyone's attention has turned towards him. He couldn't bear it.

"Yeah! Yeah... I'm alright! Right?" He hesitates and sucks in a breath, "Yeah! Yeah, I am. Don't worry about me."

Colin averts his gaze anywhere but their faces. He can't. It's terrifying. Their faces blur and turn into a gore vision he can't throw away. It's stuck in his head, the blood and... he can't. He can't! He lightly chuckles to himself as a way to cope from the visions.

The guild leader notices the boy's panic, the way their eyes just won't make eye contact no matter how hard Allumos tried to. His face tenses and his heart feels so heavy seeing the boy try and avoid him.
Why won't he look at me? Allumos clenches his fists and takes in a deep breath to try and calm his heavy heart.

"Colin."

The mentioned boy jumps at the mention of his name being called and reluctantly replies, "Y-yes?" He looks down to avoid everyone's faces. He feels so pathetic. Is this a curse? What did he do to deserve such bad luck? Had he offended a God? He couldn't find the answers for they were hidden behind high locked doors that not even the most powerful people in the world can unlock.

"Why won't you look at us?" Mario cuts in instead in which he earns a glare from both Viper and Allumos.

It's the dreadful question Colin wishes no one would dare to ask, yet they just had to. He feels himself starting to get tired but he shakes his head and takes in a deep breath. Now isn't the time to start passing out like those past days. Colin rubs his eyes and hesitantly looks up extremely slowly.
