Chapter 9
Pandora's POV
After a week Sophie opened up to me and I've listened to everything that she says. Sophie's told me almost everything except who her biological mom is, some talks with Forkle, and some embarrassing moments of her life. When she would tell me this I just nodded and listened. Sophie's always grateful for that, so in return she invited me to the Black Swan's meeting at Havenfield. And just to point out. I've never seen the Black Swan or anything else that is important for the past week. It's just school, talk to Gisela, back to school, and repeat with a lot of acting. I like and hate it at the same time, so I guess it's ok. Anyway we need to snap back to the present. I knocked on the door to Havenfield's house and Sophie opened it with a smile.
"Thanks for inviting me," I smiled (it's of course a fake one).
"It's a thank you for everything that you've done for me,"
"I just listened and you did the talking. So it's really me who should be thanking you for opening up for me,"
"I guess, but I haven't shared everything and I've shared more with you than Fitz,"
"Then tell him. It's honestly like those human movies you always talk about. The girl doesn't say anything until it's too late and soon Fitz decides that you aren't into him. Then he finds another girl and leaves you behind because you were too scared to tell him. He probably thinks you don't like him back by now,"
"Now that made me more nervous,"
"But you agree with the movie part. You really need to tell him or else I will,"
"NO!"
I smiled.
"Fine you win. I'll do it,"
"You have to do it after this meeting,"
"No. What if Fitz doesn't like me?"
"Then you walk away with a broken heart. It's either this and a broken heart or a happy heart. Or the other option is that you say nothing and Fitz leaves you,"
"That makes me even more nervous,"
I shrugged, "Ok it's your choice."
Sophie tugged on an eyelash and the urge to roll my eyes was strong. The Black Swan had one job, one freakin job to make a perfect Moonlark and they failed miserably. I was overly annoyed at this point, but I still stepped inside and leaned against a wall that was covered in shadows. A few minutes later the Collective walked in followed by Sophie's friends and a lot of goblins. When they all sat down Mr. Forkle was the only one standing up. He of course started to pace and after a while he started the meeting.
"We'll set up a trap to grab their Froster. It seems like that their Froster is pretty important to them, so if we trap their Froster we can trade Keefe for their Froster,"
"Dude that had way too many 'their Froster's' in that sentence. Let's call 'their Froster' Frosty,"
Mr. Forkle let out his usual long sighes, but it sounded more like a muffled scream today.
"We'll go with this Frosty idea, for now,"
Dex practically beamed with pride and proudly stood up. Sophie, Fitz, Biana, Tam, Linh, and Wylie started to bow down to him as if he was there king. Mr. Forkle rolled his eyes and started to continue on his speech.
"The trap will be set at Alluvettere and we'll pretend that we have the caches with us,"
"Are you sure? Won't that be a bit to obvious,"
"Trust us. We're still making out the rest of the details, but we need to get Keefe back," Granite chimed in.
I almost snorted. I put all my trust into the Black Swan and look where that got me. I'm amazed they haven't started another Moonlark due to Sophie's ability malfunctions.
"I just want Keefe back,"
"We all do," Fitz assured her.
"I know, but I keep thinking about all the horrible things they are doing to him,"
"Relax. He survived last time," Biana told her.
"But he survived by a thread,"
"Maybe, but he'll probably annoy the Neverseen to death with his jokes," Tam added.
Everyone agreed and Sophie smiled. So that's how friendship worked with the Moonlark 2.0. Very interesting. After I stopped thinking about this stuff the Collective started to tell everyone about the rest of the W.I.P (Work In Progress) plan and told them that they learned nothing so far from the Neverseen. Once everyone left and I mean everyone I leaped back to the Neverseen base. My body reformed in the cold mountains and I waved my card on the DNA sensor. It felt weird as I walked through the halls in a 14 year old body, an emerald green uniform, and no black on. I finally reached Lady Gisela's office and knocked on the door.
"Come in,"
I walked in and thanked the gods that Keefe wasn't here.
"What did you learn from their meeting?" Lady Gisela asked.
I started to tell her everything and by the end she was leaning against the back of her chair with a thoughtful look on her face.
"Get captured and find out about every piece of information that they have. Then blow their base into tiny pieces,"
"I was not expecting that answer,"
"Me neither, but if there's an opportunity for information then I take it. Also don't be afraid to remove your mask. I want the Black Swan to be scrambling,"
"Who are you and what have you done with the Lady Gisela I know,"
Lady Gisela barked a cold laugh, "I've merely changed a bit."
"A bit is a understatement,"
"Anyways we go to the Alluvettere with a few members and lose,"
"Hindsight will play a big role in this,"
"Don't you have any faith in yourself?"
"I do, but it's a risky play,"
"I know you can handle yourself,"
"Can I capture some people?"
"No we need them to roam around for the next step of Keefe's Legacy,"
"Can I at least hurt them,"
"By all means, but don't kill them or take them hostage,"
"Got it,"
I ran toward my room and when I got there I chugged down the elixir sitting on a chair. The thing is with this elixir is that it's more potent, so I fell to the floor barely conscious.
