Just an FYI most of the pictures up top have nothing to do with the story, I just like them or they make me laugh.

POV after the Last stand

Republic City was a wreck. Lin Beifong was working day and night helping bring order to the chaotic city. Raiko was building a new Republic City and leaving the wreckage for the new spirit portal. People kept trying to move back into the ruins and Lin and her officers were doing everything in their power to keep these people safe and out of harm's way. They helped clear most of the wreckage, and helped people find their belongings so they could move to New Republic City, they fought to protect the new portal, and so much more. Easy to say a year went by and Lin had barely seen her friends or family. Every night she dropped into bed tired down to the bone. She had no time to think of anything else except the city, not even herself.

Finally, after this long year of work, Lin felt the city was in order and functioning smoothly under her command. She clocked out for the day and headed home for a much-needed hot shower. She showered and changed into her Emerald silk dress with a plunging back line that exposed her beautiful skin. Lin had only worn this dress once because she usually just wore her metal armor, but tonight was a night to celebrate. She looked and felt beautiful in this fitted dress that hugged her perfectly. It had been a gift from Katara on one of her birthdays, Katara had been like a mother to Lin. Lin's heart swelled at the thought of Katara, and how she had been a mother to Lin in so many ways. One last look in the mirror, then Lin grabbed her keys and headed to her favorite restaurant excitement sparking in Lin's heart.

Upon arrival, a couple of her lieutenants and detectives spotted her and waved her over to their table. "Chief you clean up nice" one of them whistled at her. "Oh, hush before I demote you, lieutenant," Lin said sternly, but with a smile and a blush. Secretly she adored the attention. Tonight, they celebrated their hard work in the city, and Lin was determined to have a good time. They ate and drank and laughed. This was the first time in a very long time Lin allowed herself to be happy, and she was.

The other tables held government officials, the president, and members of the different nations. Although they were just as happy their long hard days were over, the police department table just had them outdone with their happiness or perhaps drunkenness (LOL).

Tenzin was at the table with the president and his wife. "Where is Pema and the little ones?", asked president Raiko. "Pema is at home with Rohan, he wasn't feeling good, and I dare not bring Meelo and Ikki to these events", Tenzin said chuckling at the thought of Meelo sitting at the table with the President. Jinora had come and was seated next to him. She was holding a very adult conversation with some water tribe officials. Tenzin admired his daughter and how very grown-up she seemed.

Tenzin's thoughts were interrupted when a detective stood up on the police department table, obviously having had one too many drinks, he shouted, "A ToAsT TOoooOo ThE GggRReeaattestTTtt CHIefff THeRe EverER Wassss, Who pULLed This ciTy bAck TogetHER With Her oWn TWoooo CaBBBbllleeesss *hiccup* Yaaaaaah". The crowd erupted with laughter and applauded and cheered for the Chief. Everyone knew that no one had worked harder than Chief Beifong. Just then a tipsy Chief Beifong stood and gave a little bow and a wave as the applause died, a fierce blush on her face. She stumbled over giggling and trying to pull her detective down blushing and seemingly unable to stop giggling at him.

Seeing Lin for the first time that night stopped Tenzin cold. His eyes traced her in that beautiful silk dress that seemed to accentuate every curve of her body and the color made her eyes look like they were shining bright green, her cheeks were flushed pink from embarrassment and probably the buzz of the liquor, and hearing her giggles ring out in the restaurant made him freeze completely.

His eyes could not leave her. It had been years since he had seen her in anything but her metal uniform, that did well in hiding her body. And the last time Tenzin had heard Lin giggle like a little girl was when they were kids playing on the beaches of air temple Island. His heart seemed to stop and everything around him just faded.

All he could see and hear was the beautiful giggling Beifong.
