Sorry, this part is kind of short, I have written so much more already but I want it perfect before I publish it.
A small familiar giggle tore him away. Jinora looked up at him giggling, saying "I haven't seen Aunt Lin look so happy in a long time." Tenzin smiled back at his daughter replying, "Me either."
Jinora got up and sprinted to Lin and they hugged. It had been a long time since the kids and Tenzin had seen Lin at all. After a warm embrace Jinora giggled, "Come on Aunt Lin!", Jinora tugged Lin to the dance floor where they danced and giggled the night away. Tenzin watched and smiled, his heart full. Jinora was extremely fond of Lin, and they got along well.
After a long enjoyable night of feasting, laughter, and celebration it was time to go home. Jinora walked the still tipsy Lin over to Tenzin. Jinora stifled giggles as Lin stumbled along beside her. "Now JinoRaaaa it's not nice to laugh at meeee, I was enjoying myselffff.", said Lin as she smiled down at the girl. Lin looked up and the smiled faded a bit when she saw Tenzin. Tenzin was hurt when he saw that he took joy away from this magnificent woman clinging to his daughter. Shoving down the sting Tenzin said, "Lin you are in no condition to drive home, let Jinora and I take you home" in his sternest voice to let her know he meant business.
"Hmmmphhhh, I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myselffffffff Thankyouuuu!", Lin said matter of factly but couldn't keep a smile from erupting on her face. At first her words stung but that smile made the sting fade instantaneously. Her green eyes were dancing with mischief, and that brilliant yet devious smile encased in her naturally plump lips put Tenzin in a trance. "Whaa, what are you smiling about", Tenzin asked smiling, not being able to stay serious when Lin kept giggling with Jinora like they had some secret about him.
"Aunt Lin has someone taking her home already daddy." said Jinora struggling to keep Lin upright. Tenzin noticed and quickly put an arm around Lin to keep her from falling over. He couldn't help but feel warm as his arm encircled this strong beautiful woman. His arm felt like it was on fire holding her, and her silk dress suddenly felt too thin, almost as though he could feel her body in his arms, and he started blushing fiercely as she leaned into him. "Who is supposed to take her hom-" Tenzin started to ask Jinora when a very tall muscular man walked up in a police uniform.
"That would be me.", said Feng, Lin's right hand man on the police force, "Lin asked me to take her home tonight because she informed me she was going to have a few drinks." Tenzin recoiled at the informality of Feng calling his chief by her first name. "YaaaaAAaaa Airheadddd" Lin slurred as she shoved Tenzin away and fell into Feng. Feng quickly caught the Chief and started walking her to the parking lot with Lin giggling at herself. "Thanks, Jinora for keeping an eye on her" Feng laughed as he strolled away with a tight arm around Lin's waist. "No problem commander Feng", Jinora giggled and saluted.
Tenzin huffed obviously perplexed with how Feng addressed and held Lin. Who was he to Lin besides her Commander and right-hand man, Tenzin thought as he and Jinora soared home on their gliders. He couldn't stop thinking about Lin and how he hadn't seen her act like this or dress like she did in so long. What is up with her, what is up with her and Feng Tenzin's thoughts ate at him well into the night.
(a little laugh bc it was a short chapter)
