Life after the battle with Kuvira is a little rocky. Lin and Tenzin try to navigate their new lives with all its ups and downs. Will they finally admit they still have feelings for each other or will they finally let each other go? Together they fac...
The next few weeks were bliss. Lin and Tenzin were constantly at the other's house, they went out for dinners, they went for walks, there were even a few times Lin had to kick Tenzin out of her office.
She would always scold him, "This is a professional place Tenzin. You can't just show up every time you want to kiss me!", but she'd always end up giggling as he followed her around her office saying, "One more and I promise I'll leave!"
Utter bliss Lin thought as she once again was sifting through paperwork. She had finally made Tenzin promise he wouldn't show up at her office unless it was professional but sitting there, she slightly wished she hadn't made him promise. Her face hurt from smiling whenever she thought about him.
They both thought the kids had already caught on to what was going on between them, and Jinora was the most excited. She always grinned at Tenzin knowingly when he said she was coming over for dinner, and always made sure they sat next to each other at dinner. Lin had already become a mother figure to them, so she fit in easily.
The next few weeks brought Lin and Tenzin out of their puppy love stages, which brought on arguments. Tenzin was a stubborn man very set in his ways, and Lin was an extremely independent person and was not used to having someone weigh in on her decisions and life. They seemed to argue a lot, but to make it work they had decided early on to never leave each other angry.
There were a few times Lin tried to storm off, but Tenzin would grab her and either calm her down or take her to take out her rage somewhere. Tenzin knew exactly where Lin went and would take her to the wasteland, when she was beyond being talked down, to let her cool down.
He would sit quietly watching her demolish boulders she brought up out of the ground. Tenzin admired Lin's strength, and how her skin turned pink with exertion, and how her body glistened with sweat. She was truly a phenomenal woman, and she never ceased in amazing him. Whenever she would finish, he would bend air on her to cool her down as she flopped down on the ground exhausted. She would lie there heaving and Tenzin just smiled at her. Then they would sit and talk things out, even the difficult things.
They were so different, yet very similar, but it worked. They took the time to learn each other's patterns, how they each handled situations, and what they liked and disliked. They adjusted themselves and their set ways of life to accommodate each other.
Lin learned how to be more open with how she was feeling, even though sometimes Tenzin had to pry it out of her. Tenzin had to learn that he couldn't fix everything for Lin immediately and sometimes had to give her time. Even through the harder discussions, they pushed on, loving each other more and more every day.
I know this is super sappy but I'm setting it up for the next chapter.
