Rest

Once out of the ground, and far enough away from the mountain as to not be spotted Tenzin glided them both back to Republic City's Police department as fast as he could going the direction Lin suggested. 

As soon as they got in the doors they were swarmed with questions and concern. The department looked like it had been in chaos looking for their chief. 

 Lin took control easily, "Listen up! I know exactly where the Red Lotus headquarters are now, and it won't be long now before they realize we escaped. So, gear up, and let's GO!!!

Lin headed towards her office Tenzin following close behind. Once inside the office, she grabbed another police metal uniform out of a closet. Tenzin watched as she metal bended the armor on, admiring the way it fit her and how focused she looked mentally preparing herself for the battle to follow. 

Lin noticed Tenzin watching her and blushed fiercely, she was not used to him the flat out admiring her. He stood quickly as she tried to turn away and held her by the shoulders. "Please be safe and come back to me.", Tenzin said in a voice thick with emotion, "I have to make sure the kids are ok, but as soon as you are done I want you right back."

Lin was taken aback at him demanding she come back to him safely, but it warmed her heart. She wasn't sure what was to happen when she got back but she pushed that out of her mind quickly. She gave him a quick kiss and said, "I have to go." She smiled at him mischievously and started to walk out the door. 

Tenzin grabbed her hand and pulled her into another deeper kiss before releasing her. She stumbled out the door feeling drunk after that deep kiss. She sighed and attempted to shake the grin off her face and all thoughts of Tenzin from her head because now she had to focus and lead her officers.

Tenzin got home and was greeted by ecstatic children. They all hugged him tightly asking a million questions at a time. Katara came out of the house eyes filled with tears. They embraced tightly. Katara helped him into the healing pool to help the bit of frostbite, his bruises, and the injection site on his neck.

 Once she was done, she fed him and forced him into bed. Tenzin hadn't realized they had been missing for three days, he didn't even realize how hungry he was until he had smelled his mother's food. He laid in bed worrying for Lin. She hadn't eaten or been examined by his mother yet. His worries continued to eat at him until he fell into a sleep filled with dreams of Lin.

Tenzin woke up the next evening feeling like he had just slept for a week. He jumped out of bed and began drowsily searching for Lin. He met Katara in the kitchen and asked her, "Did Lin stop by for you to check her?" Katara nodded her head yes, "She's sleeping in there, I already helped her and fed her.", Katara nodded towards Rohan's room. 

He walked silently to the room; she was on the bed dressed in one of Katara's water tribe robes. She was completely passed out. Tenzin walked to the bed and smoothed her hair out of her face, gently kissing her forehead, feeling relieved that she was ok. As he turned to leave, there was Katara standing in the doorway smiling and watching him. He turned scarlet red as they walked out together.

"Mother I- ", Tenzin began, but Katara waved her hand in his face. "Son I always knew; you don't have to explain yourself to me. I'm just glad you'll both finally be happy.", she said smiling at her son. He hugged her tightly and started helping her make dinner.
