Amara woke up that morning not from yelling, from the sun shining through the windows in her room. It was unusually quiet in the house but, her parents never went to work this early. She got up from bed, rubbing her eyes and walking to the bathroom to brush her teeth. After that, Amara got dressed into a yellow dress that had a light, flowy skirt and the torso of it wrapped around her waist perfectly. This was her favorite dress style, she hated the tight corset and huge skirts. She quickly brushed her hair out and walked out of the room.

"Amara!" Maisie yelled from downstairs. Amara raced down the stairs to her sister holding a letter.

"Where's daddy?" Amara asked, looking around the room.

"They left for work early, but look!" Maisie handed the unopened letter to Amara. "It's from someone named Tacitus Kilgore, for you." Amara raised a brow and opened the envelope.

Dear Amara,

I know the letter says that it's from Tacitus Kilgore, just ignore that. I need your help, I really like your sister, I want to surprise her and I'm not really into that stuff but everyone said it was a good idea. If you could meet me at the saloon in Valentine and help me out I'll repay you.

God, this sounds cheesy. Look, I just really like Maisie and hope you help me out.

Sincerely, Sean

Amara laughed, folding the letter and hiding it behind her back.

"What's it say?" Maisie asked, her brows furrowed.

"Don't worry it's nothing bad but, I have to go. Stay here, please!" Amara hugged her sister before rushing out the door and mounting her horse. She rode off to Valentine.

"You think she'll take up my offer?" Sean asked, looking over at Arthur who he had come along with him, he was surprisingly slightly scared of the woman, of her opinion towards him.

"She'll be the smartest woman alive if she doesn't." Arthur laughed, leaning back on the chair.

"I'm serious 'bout this Arthur! This is different." Sean took a long swig of his beer than slammed it on the table.

"You better be, 'cause I have a feeling that woman will kill you if you break her sisters heart." Arthur chuckled, taking a sip of his beer.

"I'm afraid you're right." Amara disrupted them, only hearing the last thing Arthur said. "What's going on?" She sat down on the empty chair at the table with the two other men.

Arthur looked over the woman, seeing she wasn't wearing the usual corset and big skirt. The dress she wore showed off her natural curves which seemed no different from the corset. He immediately snapped out of his thoughts and looked away from the woman.
