In Bright's living room, the sofas have been pushed to the side again, and a table for two has been set up in the middle of the room. It has been set up perfectly, with shining cutlery and a handful of red flowers placed in a vase in the center of it.

Win barely notices that, however.

The room is filled with candles.

Every surface is absolutely covered in them, and the whole room just glows because of it. White fairy lights hang across each wall, some of them twinkling every now and again. The Christmas tree is still in the corner, and the colored lights strung across it are shining gently.

It's just beautiful.

Win feels completely overwhelmed, not quite believing that he has this in front of him. If someone had told him a few years ago that he would have a boyfriend who would be romantic enough to do this on their year anniversary, he would have laughed.

Just as he thinks that, his romantic boyfriend takes the guitar from Win's hand, putting it down carefully before wrapping his arms around Win's waist, resting his chin on his shoulder.

"What do you think?" Bright whispers.

"That you shouldn't have left all these candles unattended when you came to fetch me."

Bright chuckles huskily into Win's ear. "That was quick, for you," he says. "I was expecting you to start listing adjectives."

"Well, it is very beautiful," Win whispers.

"Almost as beautiful as you," Bright murmurs, kissing Win's neck.

Win rolls his eyes and turns around in Bright's arms. "So cheesy, Brightie," he says. "What's for dinner?"

----

Bright has cooked – surprisingly with minimal help – chicken breast stuffed with cheese and wrapped in Parma ham, served with mash potatoes and vegetables. Win savors the taste as the boys eat it slowly, chatting to each other about anything and everything.

It is – by far – the best date Bright has organized for the two of them, and Win just spends the whole evening thinking about how lucky he is – apart from when he can't help thinking about the butterflies in his stomach expressing his nerves.

"Presents now?" Bright asks, picking up the plates and carrying them through to the kitchen.

Win stands, feeling his stomach drop at the thought of presents.

"Yeah, sure," he croaks, walking across to the sofa and sitting down.

Bright comes back into the room carrying a wrapped box and sits beside Win. "Who's going first?"

Win answers by taking the present from Bright's hands and ripping the paper off it, raising an eyebrow when he sees that it's a box for jewelry. He hesitates before opening it, but when he does, he sees a necklace nestled inside. The butterflies disappear at once.

"Oh, Bright," he murmurs, pulling it out and holding the chain in the air so he can rest the charm in his palm. "It's lovely." He hands it to Bright, turning around in his seat. "Put it on for me?"

Bright puts the necklace around his boyfriend's neck and clips it together at the back. "Is it okay?"

"It's perfect," Win whispers, looking at where the paper airplane charm settles on his chest. He quickly spins back to face Bright, kissing him quickly.

When he pulls away, Bright kisses his nose and smiles before asking, "My turn?"

Win pauses and swallows before nodding, standing up and getting his guitar. Bright hasn't asked about it yet but Win figures he would probably have guessed what his present was as soon as he saw it.

He removes the case and sits back beside Bright, feeling the nerves settle once again. Bright smiles softly and Win finds himself remembering all the times that Bright would smile in that encouraging way when they were younger. It gives him all the confidence he needs.

Clearing his throat, he begins to strum out the few chords of introduction, his fingers moving slightly shakily until he sings.

Win starts to sing as Bright just comes closer, sits in the oppsosite and adores the sight of his boyfriend, playing guitar for him.

Win nearly ends the piece he started and Bright pulls Win's face to kiss him to thank for the effort he had pt in practicing the love piece. He grabs the guitar toplace it down and then pulls Win closer than possible.

He pushed the younger on the sofa beside and started to give him the gifts of love through lips all over WIn's face. Then he simply moved down and started nibbling and sucking on his neck, creating too many love bites – as well as sounds of pleasure from Win.

And if the feeling of Bright's lips against his skin became Win's wanking material for that evening – as well as many other times – no one has to know.

"Manu will notice," Win comments, looking at the red and purple marks scattered across his neck right down to his collarbone.

Bright shrugs, grinning at Win in the mirror. "Oh well."

"Every single time she's spotted a love bite on me, she's given me shit for it. I dread to think what she'll be like when she sees this, you bloody vampire."

Without muttering an other word in reply, Bright again pulls his boyfriend to kiss him. He was just happy and in love. He can do nothing than to express it.

--------

"It's only half nine; do you fancy watching a film?" Bright suggests, still smirking to himself because of Win's neck.

"Okay," Win grumbles, inspecting the skin one last time with a grimace before joining Bright in front of the TV. Bright pulls a blanket from the back of the sofa to cover them and flicks off the lights, leaving only the candle-glow to fill the room.

He scrolls through Netflix to find a film, and after debating, Win wins, so they settle down to watch two robots falling in love.

Kulap arrives home to Bright flicking through the TV to find something to watch with Win's head rested on his shoulder, fast asleep.

"Bright!" she hisses from the doorway.

Bright spins round to face her, waking Win up in the process. "What's wrong?"

"Win was supposed to be home half an hour ago!"

Bright curses and pulls the blanket they're tangled in off their bodies, jumping up and holding out his hands for Win to take. He grabs them sleepily and is pulled to his feet.

"I'll drive him, and you make me a cup of tea to thank me for it," Kulap says jokily to Bright.

Bright nods and kisses Win softly. "Happy anniversary, babe," he mumbles into his lips.

"Happy anniversary to you too," Win replies, leaning in to kiss him again.

Kulap tuts and the boys pull apart.

"I'll text you," Bright says.

Win just nods tiredly, waving goodbye weakly and following Kulap out of the room.
