As I take another sip from the glass of water I filled at the bar sink, an heir approaches me.

When he doesn't say anything and continues to stare at me, I raise my eyebrow and ask, "Can I help you?"

"You're that human escapee, aren't you?" he asks.

I groan silently. There was bound to be one of them who noticed. I take another sip of my drink before answering him.

"Yeah."

"You aren't human, are you?"

"Nope."

"So what are you, then?"

I place my drink on the counter and raise my eyebrow. "Take a wild guess."

"I don't know."

I stretch my arms and yawn. "Shocker. I'm not surprised, though. My kind is dead to the world."

"You're not human and you're not a werewolf. Why won't you tell me what you are?"

I pick up the glass and take a sip of water. "I'd rather live my life in peace than reveal my identity."

"Tell me what you are and where you came from!" the boy demands, almost childishly.

 I snort. "Or what?"

"I'll make you," he threatens.

I lean forward and whisper in a dangerously low voice, "You'll make me?"

The boy falls silent and averts his eyes.

I sigh and rub my temples. "What's your name, kid?"

The kid puffs out his chest. "I'm Jonathan Rhys, heir to the Snow Moon Gamma."

I give him a tired smile. "Look, Jonathan, I'm quite tired from saving your ass earlier and I bet you're tired too. So why don't we get some rest so we both feel better when I ditch you and the rest of the heirs later?"

Jonathan scowls. "I'm going to find out who you are," he warns me.

I yawn and wave my hand as I head towards the door. "Sure, sure. Good luck with that."

"I have my ways of getting information."

I give the kid a cold smile as I turn around to face him. "And I have my ways of making sure my identity doesn't get out."

When I reach the control room, I knock twice before going in.

Inside, Neri sits at the control panel, staring out at the ocean.

A small smile comes to my lips as I close the door behind me and lean against the frame.

"How much longer?" I ask.

"Not much longer," Neri replies. "Maybe about an hour more. How was your break?"

"Fantastic. This kid from the Snow Moon pack wouldn't stop asking me questions about our identities and where we came from."

"They were probably just curious. Did you answer them?"

"Good. We can't have anyone knowing about the sirens or the island."

I nod and continue to stare out at the ocean with her.

A few minutes later, I ask, "Should we start the memory wipe now?"

Neri agrees, and together we leave the control room for the main deck.
