"What type of a venue are you and Damien thinking of for the wedding?" Amy asked as we sifted through the hundreds of wedding dresses.
"Remember when he took me up the mountain on our third date?" I asked her.
"Yes, that was so cute." she said.
"We were thinking of having it there, on the side of the mountain."
"That would be amazing! You have to do it at sunset." She said pointing at me.
"Of course. That's kind of a given." I said smiling.
"What about this one, honey?" Mom said from behind me.
I turned and saw an elegant dress with lace sleeves.
"Yeah, I'll try it." I said to her.
As I got to the end of the last rack, I pulled an all lace low back dress, and added it to my room.
"Would you hurry up! I'm dying of anticipation here!" Amy said dragging me to the fitting room.
She sat down by Mom who had Izzy in her lap, as I closed the door. I tried on a few different dresses, and Izzy kept looking at me with sparkling eyes. She kept telling me I looked like I was a princess.
"I love all these dresses, I don't know how you're going to decide." Amy said as I walked back into the room to try on another dress.
I pulled out the lace backless dress I liked, and the assistant helped me into it. As she zipped it, I looked at myself in the mirror, and absolutely fell in love. The front was a 'v' neck with thin spaghetti straps, and a mermaid silhouette. The skirt was full and had a few fot train.
"You guys better love this dress, because this is it!" I said before I walked out.
"We're ready, Mommy!" I heard Izzy say.
The attendant opened the door, and I walked out on the podium. Amy was covering her mouth with her hand, and was looking at me with tears in her eyes.
"Mommy...?" Izzy said sweetly.
"What baby?"
She got up and walked over next to me, and looked at the dress.
"I get a pretty dress too, right?" She asked.
"You know what?" I said as I crouched down ot her.
"What?"
"Last night, Bear found your dress, and ordered it super special for you. And I promise, It's just as pretty as this one." I told her.
"Really?!" She said excitedly.
"Really." I said with a smile.
Mom and Amy walked up to us, and I stood back up, and looked in the mirror.
"You're so beautiful." Mom said as she looked at me in the mirror.
"That dress was definitely made for you." Amy said smiling.
I changed, and we looked for a maid of honor dress for Amy and a dress for Mom. We ended up finding both. They also had ties that matched the burgundy of Amy's dress for Damien and Isaac.
"Have you set a date yet?" Amy asked as I drove home.
"No, but I'm sure we will soon. It's just going to be us, and a few friends from work, so Its not like we need a ton of notice." I said shrugging.
Damien and Isaac were in the living room when we walked inside. They were watching some action movie, but shut it off when we walked in.
"Hey." Damien said smiling as he hugged me. "Did you find a dress?" He asked.
"Yes, and so did Amy and Mom." I said.
"Wow. Ok. I guess its coming together quickly." He said.
"Bear! Mommy said you bought me a dress!" Izzy said jumping next to him.
Damien picked her up, "Oh, honey. I bought you the ultimate princess dress." He said smiling.
"I'm so excited!" She said as she wiggled.
I helped Mom get dinner ready. We made a simple chicken casserole that would be easy and make a lot of food.
"Mommy, can I watch Frozen?" Izzy asked as we started in the kitchen.
"Sure honey. But we will have to pause it to eat in a little bit." I said.
"Ok." She said running to the living room and handing Damien Frozen 2.
Both of the guys are so good with her. I watched as she grabbed her princess crowns, and put one on Damien and one on Isaac, then one on herself. She sat between them as they watched.
While the food cooked, we all sat and watched the movie. When Kristoff started singing 'Lost in the Woods', Damien and Isaac dramatically sang along with it making Izzy laugh uncontrollably.
We ate dinner together, and Isaac and Amy went back home. The four of us finished the movie, and had some ice cream before we tucked Izzy into bed, and Mom called it a night.
Damien and I went down to our room and we curled up in bed. I laid my head on his chest as I listened to the smooth, rhythmic sound of his heartbeat.
"I think we should set a date." I said looking up at him.
"Ok, do you have something in mind?" He asked.
"No, not really. Just soon. Mom will do the flowers, and we need to find a photographer." I said.
"What about the last weekend in June? Its about three weeks away. Is that enough time?" He asked.
"It should be. Izzy's dress will be here next week. That really the only thing we have to wait on."
"Then It's set." He said with a smile. "June 28th"
"I can't wait." I said as I kissed him.
...
For the next few weeks, we finalized everything, and made sure the dresses fit perfectly, along with the boy's dark grey suits. I decided I wanted white roses with lots of eucalyptus as the flowers. We also found some white chairs for the few people who would be at the wedding.
Damien called his parents and let them know we were getting married. They congratulated him, but said they wouldn't make it. He really didn't seem surprised. I thought it was sad that parents wouldn't want to be there to see their kids get married, but Damien insisted that it wasn't a big deal. I guess they were hands off parents that never really went out of their way.
We planned a honeymoon to the Bahamas. It wasn't a long trip, but we would be there for five full days. We had a suit with a Caribbean view booked at the Atlantis hotel. Damien is definitely spoiling me.
