Sorry

‘Good morning, love.’

‘Baby, are you free now?’

‘Please, let’s talk.’

‘You’re making me worried, Mariana.’

‘Baby, please.’

‘I miss you.’

‘I’m coming over.’

I don’t want to see him yet.

I need some space to think and to internalize everything. I want him to fix it first before me. I am not selfish, kaya gusto kong ayusin niya na muna kung ano man ang namamagitan sa kanilang dalawa.

I always overthink that maybe he’s just playing with me like what he usually does towards his other girls. I always ended up thinking that all of these between us are just a mere game that he wants to play.

I don’t know.

Hindi ko na alam.

I replied to his last text.

Me:

Please, don’t. We’re good… just settle your things first, Rad.

I sighed deeply as I clicked the sent button. It’s been a week since the ‘engagement’ news spread like wildfire. It’s been a week since the last time we saw each other.

It’s been also a week since I felt whole.

I really wanted to believe him that it was just a rumour, but my mind and heart says otherwise.

It has been the talked of the town since last week. Even the big and exclusive magazines and entertainments were talking about it and even published some copies.

I really wanted to believe him. I really wanted to believe Rad because… I love him.

Ngayon ko lang inamin sa sarili ko but I am certain that I am falling in love with him.

I have fallen for him.

Summer has finally ended.

I smiled and looked at Ate Sabel, “I’m done, Ate.

She smiled weakly. So I smiled genuinely to assure her that I’m fine. She nodded and left my room.

I sighed heavily as I stared at my things. Nakakatamad mag ayos. Parang ayokong umalis but I need to leave. I need to process my enrolment for my last year as a senior high student.

Kanina pa tunog ng tunog ang phone ko, hindi ko na sana titingnan pa dahil akala ko si Rad na naman but to my surprise, it was his Mom. Tita Diana is calling me. I answered the call.
