Aubrey did not see a lot of things coming lately.

Meeting David, reuniting with the gang, seeing David with Madison weren't at all in her expectations list just two months ago, and yet here she was.

On top of that, she also did not expect to see her friends at her company's event at all. Her brother, who was now the official CEO of her family's company had decided to throw a big party for the success of a new app they had just launched. Usually, something like this wouldn't be given an elaborate party but things run differently under Jack's leadership. That boy can bust his ass every single day of the week and still be down to party all night long.

Now, Aubrey was not upset at all that David showed up with Madison in his arms, but it really didn't hurt at all to be thankful that Aubrey's never looked better than she did then. She was wearing a couture Giambattista Valli dress, a gift from her brother from that time he went to Paris with his model girlfriend.

Not wanting to look like she's trying too hard, Aubrey chose to navigate her way around the room first before greeting David and his date. The girl really turned her charm on, unofficially becoming the host of the party, which she technically is.

"Hi sis," Jack whispered in her ear.

Aubrey immediately excused herself from the group she was talking to and turned to her brother.

"Hey, Jack," She hugged her brother tightly. She's met him a couple of times since her return, seeing that he's trying to move their company's headquarters to LA. The man was getting bored of San Francisco since he's always lived there, and he just really wanted to get away from his dad.

"Heard anything from Madi?"

"Oh, yeah," Aubrey nodded, "She's in Cannes, met a French guy and hopped on a train from Paris with him."

"Damn, she's really living her best life huh?"

After graduating college, Madi decided to travel the world and basically do whatever the fuck she wants. Dani, being a freelance instagram model, made the last minute decision to tag along and made a travel blog. Basically Aubrey's two soul sisters left her for an extended vacation, but she really didn't mind. Aubrey can't stand not working and she did also left them when she went to Bali.

"I'm starting to think she's trying to be Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love," Aubrey joked.

"She probably is. Also, you really turned your charm on tonight, who are you trying to impress?" Jack's eyes travelled around the room, trying to look for someone noteworthy.

"Holy shit is that David?"

Aubrey slapped her brother's arm, "Don't be so fucking loud! And why are you surprised? It's your party!"

"Do you seriously think that I'd deal with the guest list? They must've thought you hadn't gone back yet."

"Well thanks for that, because now I have to deal with being at the same party with my ex and his date."

"Oh, please," Jack scoffed, "You're the owner of the company that threw this party, she's a plus one. You and her are not the same. You already win."

"It's not a competition. David and I are now friends, I'm happy that he found another girl."

"You're just disappointed that it's her," Jack responded in a matter-of-fact way.

Aubrey gave him a warning glare, which only made her brother snicker.
