She remembers the flashes from her past when she had lost her mother. The thought of how she was singing and laughing along with her mother at the tender age of 6 until the white flashes entered her visions before everything went black.
Not just in her vision but in her life.
She feels the same aching in her chest as the sound starts to become more distant and her breathing starts to get heavier as the reporters charge at her. She tries to move away from them only for them to come more towards her and she stumbles on the five-step stairs in front of the restaurant trying to catch herself when she feels the familiar hand holding her.
It took her a moment when she found herself wrapped around in his tight hold. His one hand over her waist pulling her closer and the other hand on her head bringing her face closer to him hiding her away from the sharpness of the reporters. He turns them around so that his back was to the reporters and she was hiding completely from their view.
"Come on in. Quick". She heard the owner of the restaurant
She didn't even realise when he created the distance and started to head back inside the restaurant until they were back inside. Her legs buckle up as she feels herself falling again but he picks her bridal style before placing her down on the couch at the side.
"Jaan, please look at me. Are you ok?". He said cupping her cheeks in his hands and his voice remains hoarse from the emotions she couldn't depict just yet with her hazy mind while she hears him cursing himself, "Jaan, please".
She didn't speak. She couldn't speak. The accident with her mother had made her mute for a whole year and she went to therapy for her to get it back. To be reminded of that event again and the flashes of it in her naive mind had made her go back to that state again.
"We can bring your car to the door behind and then you can leave from there?". He heard the owner say
He nodded handing them his car keys watching him leave as he looks at the dazed woman of his looking at nothing in particular. His heart clenched in worry as he looks at her. He doesn't know how that happened and why it had such a bad effect on her.
"Anabia". He tried again holding her hand that was cold trying to warm them
He removes his jacket wrapping it around her body tightly making her wear it properly and the way she didn't object told him that she wasn't in a good place and his fear are increasing every ticking second. Just as the owner informed him he knows she won't be able to walk again so he picked her in bridal style and she hides her face from the light in his chest. Her tiny fist-clenching his shirt in it as he walks to his car placing her inside making her wear the belt. His breathing hitched when he had turned his face and they were so close. He could feel her breathing and her face looks at the same from here.
She looks beautiful.
He shakes his head quickly walking to the other side giving the owner a generous tip driving the car away from this place. He cannot believe that the same place he had caused her pain had managed to cause her pain again even when he didn't intend it to be.
He wanted to set things straight and to have her accept him. Maybe the whole world is against this arrangement. Because no matter how hard he tries there is no progress because something had to go wrong.
He looks at her from time to time hoping they are far enough for him to stop the car to speak to her before he loses his mind to all his worries. After he saw a river he knows he can stop here so he stops the car at one of the parking spot walking outside standing at the bridge that shows the wide river with very few people around. He knows if he forces her to come with him there is no way she will come and she needs to do it on her own as much as he wishes to help her. It kills him inside not being able to reach her or help her in any way possible.
