She pulled her phone from her pocket as she walked through the crowd of partying students only to find that her battery was dead. "Dammit!" She muttered and shoved her phone into her pocket as made her way to the parking lot.

She paused at the sight of Raphael with his hands against his car and his head dropped. She almost felt sorry for the way she had treated him. Almost.

And she wasn't going to forgive him that easily.

She silently made her way over to him, noticing his tense demeanour and the trembling breaths he released. But as if he knew that she was behind him, he turned around to face her with a weak smile.

"Can I borrow your phone?" She asked. "Mine's dead."

"Sure.." He replied softly and handed his phone over to her, watching her as she began scrolling through and typing on his phone.

"My Uber will be here soon." She said and gave his phone back to him.

"I could have taken you home." He responded with a small frown.

"I dont want to burden you." She replied simply.

"I guess I can understand that you don't want to be near me." He said and stared down at her. "You and Liam seem pretty close." He noted.

She shrugged. "We got close when you left."

She noticed his deflated expression. She hadn't meant for it to sound like a slap in the face.

"And us?" He asked softly. "Where does that leave us?"

"We're still the same." She said. "I'm just mad at you."

Raphael nodded softly, briefly shifting his gaze to the ground before settling it back on her. "I guess I'll just give you your space." He said. "You know where to find me when you're ready."

"You infuriate me." She said suddenly, making the Alpha frown. "You haven't spoken to me for the entire duration of the summer and now you want more space?"

"Well, I don't know what more to do, Leah." He replied with a sigh. "You act like you don't want me anywhere near you, I can't even touch you. I feel horrible enough as it is for my disappearance."

"Ugh!" She rolled her eyes and walked off but without watching her footing, Leah found herself tumbling down the hill where she had hit her head against a rock."

"Leah!" She heard Raphael call her as she opened her eyes only to have slightly blurred vision as she looked around.

"Are you okay?" The werewolf asked worriedly as he knelt down beside her.

But she ignored his question completely, just simply nodding before she covered her nose. "What's that smell?" She asked in disgust.

Raphael frowned in confusion before he too, caught whiff of what Leah was speaking about. "It smells like rotting flesh." He said as he helped her to her feet, scanning his surroundings. "Stay close to me." He said and walked forward.

They cautiously made their way towards the treeline where they had come across a decomposing body of a girl. Raphael stared on in shock as Leah began to gently tug on his arm. "Let's go.." She said softly and pulled him along with her.

The couple walked back to the werewolf's car where he had immediately gotten her into the passenger seat. Leah frowned as she watched him, wrapping her arms around herself as he shut the door and made his way around to the driver's side.

Once he had gotten in, he buckled up and started the car and was soon driving down the road.

There was silence in the car. It wasn't comfortable but nor was it awkward. It was just.. Still.

Leah shifted her gaze away from the window and onto Raphael as he concentrated on the road ahead. "Tell him.." She said softly, holding herself just a little tighter.

"What?" Raphael asked, taking his eyes off the road to throw a quick glance at her.

"My Dad.." She clarified. "About the body.."

The werewolf frowned to himself as he returned his gaze to the road. "Still not speaking to him?"

Her silence gave him his answer.

"Babe.." He began softly. "I know that you are still deeply hurt over the massive secret that he kept from you for your entire life. He's still your father and he loves you which is more than I can say about mine."

"It hits deeper than that." Leah replied. "I felt like I failed him when I lied. When I used black magic, I felt so horrible.. But it turned out that he lied and had done the same. I don't want to talk to him."

He wanted to say something more but he didnt want to push the matter with her further so he remained quiet with regards to the topic. "I'll tell him." He said eventually.

She nodded softly as it fell silent between them once more.
