Christeen...
"Okay, once we cross the bridge, park the pier in the old garage. Got it?" Evie asked when Jay started the car. He and Carlos were at the front while Evie and Ben where back here with me. But Carlos seemed to know something was up.
"Got it," Jay answered and looked over at Carlos who was eyeing his surroundings suspiciously. "What's wrong, man?"
"I can't shake off the feeling that she is here," Carlos answered looking back. And as if he saw me he looked straight at me.
"Who's here? Chris?" Jay was confused by Carlos' sixth sense.
"Yeah...I still smell her raspberry shampoo, you know. But maybe I am just hallucinating. She wouldn't just risk her life like this after I strictly told her not to." Oh, how wrong you are love. I am not a dog to be listening to every command. Not even Dude listens to everything he says.
"If you say so." Jay shrugged.
"You could have used better words to explain it to her Carlos. You just hurt her more like this." Evie scolded folding her arms over her chest. That's a best friend right there. Defending me even if I am not there...or at least while she thinks I am not there.
My fun was cut short when we drove through the barrier. Something happened and my invisibility powers stopped working making me visible right there. And there goes the foolproof plan huh.
"Christeen?" Both Ben and Evie asked at the same time sounding very surprised. At the sound of my name, both Jay and Carlos turned around confused. Once my boyfriend saw me he...simply said freaked out but it would be hard to pinpoint just one of his emotions. Jay just smirked and turned back to driving.
"Seems like your senses work excellently Carlos," Jay commented with a laugh and focused back on the road in front of him.
"In what language does 'stay here' translate as 'come sneak into the limousine without us knowing'?" You could clearly hear in Carlos' voice how annoyed he was. But he can't send me back now so...
"Wonderland language," I said shrugging my shoulders. But in all honesty, I am right. In Wonderland everything is what it isn't and isn't what it is. Up is down, left is right and so on so to convert this sentence into Wonderland language we would get the same thing I did...well not exactly but my point still stands.
Once the car stopped we all go out of it and covered the car with a tarp just so no one would steal it or something. I was standing next to Carlos pulling the tarp towards the boot of the car to cover it completely when he caught my hand.
"Don't you dare wander off anywhere, you are staying near us at any given moment. Understand?" Carlos asked looking me straight in the eyes. I suppressed the urge to roll my eyes and nodded. He seemed satisfied enough and so he let go of my hand and helped me with the tarp while Ben wandered off.
"Hey, what's in here?" Ben asked looking into some sort of tunnel. Because me and Carlos were closest we pulled Ben away from it. Jay took Ben from us while Carlos pulled me to the side. He looked me up and down and sighed.
"Hey, guys. Keep it chill, all right? The last thing we need is our parents figuring out we're here. Some of us have girlfriends that have their cat ears poking out," Carlos pointed out lightly touching my lavender cat ear. Until now I didn't even realize they were out. And even if I tried to pull them down they were still sticking out. Ugh, the Isle, and the magical barrier preventing magic. We started making our way to their old hideout where they think Mal will be.
"C, you might need this," Evie said handing me a beanie to cover my cat ears with it. I smiled at her gratefully and immediately put it on. I have attracted enough attention as it is.
